Well, if any of those strawmen were actually being preached and advocated in the suburban megachurches, then perhaps one might expect Tebow to publicly distance himself from those positions if, in fact, he did disagree with them
Demonic forces and witchcraft are preached about in church. Would you prefer healthcare reform? style of worship? science curriculum? wardrobe choices?

Your logic is ridiculous. He's a football player. Maybe someday if he's a policitian he'll broach those subjects, but they aren't remotely relevant to his job (playing a sport and talking about what happened and why), so his silence is pretty irrelevant.

Of course, this battle is between:

a) Doesn't comment on homosexuality or any other hot-button issue with christians, just talks about the 'why' behind his ability, albeit very publically.

b) Frequently makes reach around references and tries to find homosexuality evidence in the least substantial places
Gay bashing, however, is part and parcel of the fundamentalist Christian identity in modern America. That Tebow is silent about it, can't help but lead to the conclusion that he tacitly supports the position.
I take it this is part of that open-minded thinger you boasted about earlier.

Ummm, this is the guy who starred in a $2MM Focus on the Family anti-abortion Super Bowl ad. I think Tebow, through his own choices and actions, long ago moved beyond simply talking about, "Jesus in my life and how he helps me win football games." If one is willingly going to put himself in a position of being Focus on the Family's poster boy, then I think where he comes down on their whole package of beliefs and policy positions is more than fair game.

Pardon me. But I'd like to point out that only thirty two people actually watched it. Everybody else was taking a leak or getting a beer.

And what a laughable overreaction that was... but that's what ignorance and selective tolerance will do for you (on all fronts, there are countless examples of conservative protests overreacting).

Then find a reporter to ask him those questions.

Until then, his homosexuality (or lack there of) will be left up to your imagination.

I strongly doubt that you have been in a suburban "megachurch" any more than you've attended class at a MAC school in Ohio.

I've missed very few Sundays in the past 7 years at my particular "megachurch", and I've never heard gays bashed or abused in any way from the pulpit or in private conversations with fellow members. Not. One. Single. Time. In fact, I know a number of people at this church who minister to AIDS patients, some of whom presumably must be gay.

And before you even start with that "shoving down people's throats" nonsense, let me explain to you something you clearly don't understand about Christianity, apparently. Charity, mission work and ministry isn't something done to win converts -- it's to respond to God's call to help the suffering, needy and less fortunate. There's no quid pro quo, as in your twisted mind that we'll give you a bowl of food if you just read this here bible tract. That's not how it's done, and that's certainly not how my church does it.

Every sermon at our church from the past decade is online. I'd invite you to peruse all of them and list for me every item you find objectionable, but frankly you seem far too intellectually lazy to bother. You'd rather spout ill-informed stereotypes that fit your preconceived prejudices.

You're talking out of your ass about things with which you have no experience. You are at a moral and intellectual level no better than those you criticize and are probably worse. Topping it off, you're not even entertaining. As an OU grad, I'd like to at least be amused at your bashing of that overgrown boarding school in Oxford, but you can't even make THAT joyful.

So, let me quote that alleged anonymous player at the Wonderlic test: "Shut the fuck up".

Tebow asks for pre-Wonderlic prayer, told to shut the fark up

Tebow's pre-Wonderlic prayer request falls flat
Posted by Mike Florio on March 23, 2010 7:20 PM ET
As we've mentioned once or twice, quarterback Tim Tebow's habit of openly expressing his religious beliefs could potentially rub folks the wrong way, especially in a locker room of grown men who choose to keep their beliefs to themselves, who don't share his beliefs at all, and/or who only want to hear "God bless" after they have sneezed.

We're told that Tebow already has gotten a taste of the resistance he might face at the next level.

At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.

Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.

Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.

We're not passing judgment on this one; we're just passing along what we've heard. And it illustrates the type of challenges that could be faced by the team that drafts Tebow.

That said, some teams might embrace those challenges. The final decision will depend largely on the composition of the team, and the personalities of the coach, the G.M., and the owner.

As someone who lives in GA and has watched Tebow dismantle the GA Bulldogs for years, this kid has what it takes. He's tough, aggressive, a student of the game, everything you would want on your team.

the Browns can turn elite QB prospects with no questions about their NFL ability into garbage, I'm sure things would work out wonderfully with Tebow in Cleveland

But would love to see him in an orange helmet and brown jersey! Holmgren trades up into the later part of the 2nd round to take Tebow!

WEST PALM BEACH ? Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow today defended Gators wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who recently made comments that some fans and media members considered to be critical of Tebow.
Thompson had described new starter John Brantley as "a real quarterback," which some took as a swipe at Tebow.
No so, Tebow said today before addressing a Boy Scouts of America gathering at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
