You couldn't pay me enough to be famous. So many of these stars are so much more miserable than us peons. Money can ruin lives.

Most people are miserable no matter what, might as well have the money.:tongue2:

I cannot stand how the media treats him. He can do no wrong in their eyes.
Fair enough. Some folks here cannot stand how you attack Woods without anything but hatred for the guy to support your position.

I'd prefer he not swear on the course and that he'd do a better job of controlling his temper. But he is a human, and consequently has faults. I happen to think he's the greatest golfer of all time, and I love to watch him play.

I also remember how Jack Nicklaus was reviled during his early career because Arnold Palmer's fans couldn't stand the idea of Arnie being displaced as the world's best. So the hatred isn't unique to Woods. Certainly racism plays a part in his case, though (and no, THEWOOD, I'm not accusing you of racism here).

Well one thing Jack will always have over Tiger is that Jack's wife never kicked his ass and left him for dead in the middle of the street.
I well remember being at the PGA Championship in Dayton (NCR South) when Jack and Gary Player were paired together. Racial tensions were high at the time, and a protester came out of the gallery to pursue Player - an inappropriate target given Gary's consistent history of being anti-Apartheid and a big supporter of black golfers in SA and elsewhere. Protester was making threatening gestures as he approached.

Anyhow, when the protester got close to the green, Jack started after the guy with his putter raised menacingly. Police weren't required to respond; the protester quickly demonstrated his "40" speed - away from the green! :) So Jack could be a pretty intimidating fella. Somehow I can't see Barbara coming after Jack with a 3-wood.

My dislike of Tiger has nothing to do with knocking you off your high horse. Get over it.
My dislike of Tiger has nothing to do with you knocking him off his high horse either :tongue2:

I don't like how he throws clubs, throws fits, and curses to high heaven all the time (in fact I've nicknamed him Boo Boo Face) But I'm honest enough to admit that had Jack had the media following him 24/7/365 his entire life, I would have probably seen Jack do some things that I would have found less than gentlemanly as well. All this aside, Tiger is one [censored] of a golfer and competitor, he apparently cannot take a punch though.

You say it has nothing to do with it, then I believe you.

Having said that, I don't think I'm buying your bull[censored]. (Curb'd)
finally watched that episode tonight.

still, you were pissed over what somebody said about a person who will never know or care that you exist. it could have been Frank Thomas, Michael Jordan, Tim Brown, or Mark Messier.....my thoughts are still the same.

Australian media claiming that Woods began affair with Rachel Utchetel, who was his host for a function there.

Doesn't look like a slicer to me. Anyway, they say his wife beat him on returning home and that he was trying to escape her while she chased him down the driveway with a golf club. They assert that she hit the car several times with a golf club as he left the garage and started down the driveway, distracting him and causing him to hit the hydrant and then over-correct into the tree. (link)

Many sites saying that she was reacting to the breaking story about the affair in National Enquirer.

From the TMZ report (link):

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident.

[snip]

We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club.

We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

1. If any of us guys were pursued by Ms. Uchitel, I'd wager not one in ten of us could say "no" when her snatch was waving hello to us from a nearby sofa. She is a stone fox and a half. Not that I'm saying Tiger didn't say "no," mind you. :paranoid:

2. This TMZ report sounds about as logical as one could imagine. I can see how an irate wife could come after her hubby with a 3-iron after hearing he'd been (allegedly) helping himself to some strange. Not that it's ever happened to me, of course. :paranoid:
