Good post Jwins - this sums up my feelings

Thats a cool story, I read Ted Williams Science of Hitting during the summer between 7th & 8th grade and I think that story was in there - but because Snead rips one into the woods and has to play it doesn't mean it's harder to hit a golf ball..

When the ball leaves the pitchers hand, a batter has the blink of an eye to judge where the ball is, where the ball is breaking, where the ball will be when the bat comes through the zone, and whether or not it's a strike.

I guess the best way to illustrate how hard it is to hit a baseball..

A .300 hitter is consider a very good hitter.. that means 3 out of 10 at bats he gets a hit.

If MJ was a 3/10 shooter he would never been in the NBA. In baseball, it means you're an All Star.

You think hitting a baseball is tough?

You've obviously never seen David Weathers pitch!!

Saying he is wearing a full, straight knee brace and will need to be on crutches for at least three weeks, Tiger Woods made his first public remarks Monday since undergoing reconstructive surgery on June 24, but he offered no timetable for his return to competitive golf.
"I really don't know," Woods said during a conference call to promote his AT&T National, a tournament near Washington, D.C., that he hosts but will be unable to attend. "We'll have to see how this thing heals and everyone heals at a different rate. Some six months, some at nine and some at 12. To be honest with you, no one really knows until we start the rehab process and see how this thing goes."

Woods announces his wife, Elin, pregnant with second child

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Even with his golf done for the year, Tiger Woods found something to celebrate Tuesday: His wife is pregnant with their second child.

Woods said on his Web site that Elin is expecting in late winter without being more specific on a due date.

He has not played since his U.S. Open victory in June, and two weeks later had reconstructive surgery on his left knee that put him out for the year. Woods' first child, daughter Sam, was born on Monday after the 2007 U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods' recovery could take two years

Tiger Woods has been told by one of golf?s leading surgeons that it could be another two years until he is back to his best.

Dr Lanny L Johnson, a pioneering orthopaedic specialist who invented the tools used in Woods? knee operation in June, has warned the 32-year-old American not to rush back, or risk suffering long-term damage.
?Other forces will try and hurry Tiger back, but he should take it easy,? Dr Johnson told The Daily Telegraph. ?Dr Tom Rosenburg, who has performed his operations, is a great surgeon and if Tiger?s smart, he will listen to what he has to say.
?If you tear your cruciate ligament in American football, you can play within a year ? and with full confidence within two years. Based on this, and the recovery period of other athletes, I am guessing that Tiger will need two years.?
Woods announced he was to have a fourth operation on his left knee two days after he defied doctors to win the US Open at Torrey Pines ? his 14th major title of an incredible career.
Since that feat, achieved despite a stress fracture of the knee, he has been undergoing rehabilitation and was expected to be back in time for the 2009 Masters.
However, while he is likely to be fit enough to play next year, Dr Johnson?s diagnosis suggests he could be struggling.

This is really going to hurt revenue for the networks that televise golf especially if he doesn't come back next year and with all the money that he has coupled with the fact with his desire to play at his utmost best he will do nothing foolish to suffer a setback.

Woods Left Holding Bag After Caddie?s Remarks
By LARRY DORMAN
LOS ANGELES ? As he prepared to welcome the players participating in this week?s Chevron World Challenge benefiting the Tiger Woods Foundation and other charities, Tiger Woods, the tournament?s host, probably did not think he would be issuing a terse statement aimed at defusing a controversy between himself and his longtime rival Phil Mickelson.

Insiders say Tiger is as close to the vest as they come. He has to be livid over Stevie's comments. When Tiger started blowing up back in the day, there were reports he cut friends off that he suspected of releasing personal information to the media.

I doubt Stevie gets the "Fluff" treatment, but I wouldn't doubt he received a pretty nasty phone call today.

i think it would be pretty stupid to fire him too. he seems to be the best caddy out there. however, there are 3 rules to being a caddy.

1. show up
2. keep up
3. shut up

Stevie just said what I have thought all along that Tiger and Phil do not get along at all and I don't think it would take a genius to figure that out. I think Tiger knows that he has the best caddie in the world and probably has little problems with what Williams said about crybaby Phil:(
