You people do realize that red star makes all yeast you could ever want... You can have champagne yeast sourdough if you want. But... Nooooo... Hippies.

I use packaged yeast; I bake bread when the mood hits. Sometimes several times a month and sometimes none for several months.

For the last several weeks our local stores have all been out of stock. Last week one local Kroger had 5 of the 4 oz jars of Fleischmann’s on the shelf.

A bag of noodles + couple large cans of chicken + large jar of sliced mushrooms (drained) + couple bullion cubes + 2 cans of broth + some parsley flakes (put everything in a large pot, add a little water, bring to a boil, and as soon as the noodles are soft it's ready to eat) = a large pot of chicken & noodles (enough for several meals).

Today we supplemented the meal with a couple slices of this:

My wine guys are getting offered some Bourbons that they normally wouldn't, but since there are no restaurants to take it right now, Duder snagged some Eagle Rare 10yo, Blanton's and Weller's along with a case each of Savennieres Blanc and Anjou Rouge from D'Epire.

I’m more impressed by emergency Malorts. Because you need extra bottles...
