Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

Stopped in a small gas station in Iowa once, probably about halfway between Iowa City and Des Moines. Walk through the convenience store area, and there's a small diner off to the side. Had the best fried pork tenderloin sandwich you can imagine.

there is a town called Iowa in Louisiana.

small place off I-10 heading toward Lake Charles.
good food out that way.

Tried to make carbonara on Sunday.

Needs some work. The whole egg sauce temper isn't something I have a lot of background with

It tasted fine but not as shiny as I hoped
What you have to do is after you beat the eggs and add it to the sauce you have to pour a bit of sauce into the eggs and beat it in little by little and then add it to the main pot of sauce, don't overcook the sauce either or it will break. A lot of cooks cheat and add a bit of roux
