Research funding jumped 12% to 1.38B. Seeing as we have no President right now (not even an interim), I don't have much hope for another big jump next year.

Just got my "We are Fisher" booklet. Looks like an expensive advertisement. Haven't read yet, but wonder if I'll see how come an MBA from tOSU has dropped from top 25 to outside 50th place.....always get a kick out of the fund raising phone calls. Always ask what's the plan to raise program status to top tier status. Suprisingly, that's not an question the callers can answer. PS, am a Life Member.

Nobody does less with more than the Business school. Among other professional colleges: Law is ranked 22nd, medicine is 28th, Public Affairs is 19th and Engineering is 27th. Dozens of core Arts & Sciences departments like Astronomy, Physics, History, Political Science and so on are top 25 and some even top 15. Fisher just massively underperforms.

Maybe offer some NIL money to some business profs? Hey, whatever works. Doesn't the B school have enough donors that endow professorships at Fisher? Remember the B school got a significant jump when the new facility opened (leaving Hagerty Hall behind), but apparently not enough follow-up on rest of faculty performance. When I was there, there were several who didn't make tenure, and went elsewhere. Publish or perish. Or maybe we grads aren't making enough impact on the upper reaches of Corporate America? Anyone got any thoughts on this?

New USNWR rankings came out yesterday. We rose six spots to #43. They're putting more weight on how well a university fosters social mobility by looking at the percentage of low income and first generation students at a school and how well that school does at retaining and graduating them. Needless to say that Fredo (OH) plunged 28 spots under the new formula. Some notorious rich kid private safety schools like Santa Clara, Pepperdine and Wake Forest also had steep declines.

Yes. He thought he could turn WVU into Ohio State and went on a borrowed money building spree for an enrollment boom that never happened. Complete shitshow, and we were right to run him on his second tenure here. Hell, even his first go around that everyone loved was really just him inheriting all the hard work that his predecessor along with the previous Governor and Speaker of the Ohio House did and shamelessly taking credit for it all.
