I didn't think it was that great. I mean really, fuckin' Kenard?! Huge cop out from David Simon, I thought.

I thought that at first but Kenard was like "that's omar" when he came up on the corner. Omar going out like that not expecting it is more realistic than some guns blazing shootout.

I can't wait til Monday to see the finale!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but HBO is going to make you wait to see the series finale. They will not be showing it in advance On Demand.

Source: 90-Minute finale will air on March 9th at 9:00 p.m.

I really wished they would have produced more than 10 episodes for the final season. Just doesn't seem like justice for a show that's been this great.

Michael Kostroff, an actor who was in town to volunteer for Obama and had a chance to meet him, told the Sun that Obama?s favorite TV show is his own: HBO?s ?The Wire,? which chronicles Baltimore?s violent drug culture and the police who quixotically try to stop it.

Obama told the Sun his favorite character is Omar, a stick-up artist who steals from drug dealers and then gives the loot to poor people in the neighborhood.

?That?s not an endorsement. He?s not my favorite person, but he?s a fascinating character.?

Not sure if any of you read Bill Simmon's articles or listen to his podcasts, but he posted a podcast today with Jason Whitlock entirely devoted to The Wire. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I'm sure it will be entertaining.

I am pissed I did not start watching it before this year. Great show even though I can only understand about half of what Marlows crew say. Guess I am too old, too white bread, short on the venacular. Seriously, I almost wore TIVO out trying to hear what Snoop says.

I have been watching In Treatment. Very good.

Keep an eye out for John Adams, the series by Hanks in March. If it comes close to Band Of Brothers it will be must see TV. The book was very good.

A 'Wire' Addict on his Jones

My name is Steve, and I'm an addict.

David Simon is my dealer. He got me in the early days with the five-part HBO mini-series, "The Corner," and now, I've moved up to a full hour in front of the television, every, single, solitary Sunday night. Nine p.m. Sharp.

I don't answer the phone. I don't text. I don't make any other plans. And I'm not ashamed. Word on Critic Ave. is that is most Highbrowers love it for its Dickensian nature and literature-like depth. Sure it is chock full of literary witticisms and fanciful metaphors, but to leave it there is to miss the beauty of the scathing critiques and unabashed in-your-face-ness of it all. But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. I'm real with mine.

it's truly a low down dirty shame that more people on BP aren't into this show. It's sad that this show which in addition to be entertaining is also a truly reflective of modern urban america gets looked over. I put this series up there with any novel I've ever read. It's too bad we live in a world where James Patterson is bigger than Kurt Vonnegut.
