I'm sure you can live a long, full life without it. Sometimes it's somewhat interesting to me to hear the actors interviewed about their characters. It's also a good barometer for who's likely to die next. A number of times people have been on the week before they are killed off--Andrea last year, for example.

I JUST started recording them on DVR, I've watched the last two. I wouldn't say you're missing all that much. There are some funny bits here and there, Chris Hardwick does a pretty good job moderating. They usually have a cast member on (Especially if they're one that bit the dust that episode), and maybe a celebrity or two that follows the show. This week they had Lauren Cohen and Hershel of course, she was pretty choked up since it was his last episode, kind of cool to see the father/daughter dynamic they had built on the set. Cast members/writers/directors will give insights into certain scenes that week. They show behind the scenes shots on how the action occurred in that week's episode (This week they showed the tank destruction). They do show a sneak peak of the next week's episode, but it's only about 20-30 seconds and it doesn't give anything away.

Long story short, you may pick up a thing or two watching TTD, maybe a few neat insights, but you're not missing anything big at all if you decide to skip it.

Actually, let me amend my earlier response. You most certainly DID miss something if you didn't watch the episode this season with Marilyn Manson.

The next week, Hardwick made the funniest crack I've heard from him, where he alluded to the visit without naming Manson and equated it to a live call they (inadvertently or not) took last year from a raving lunatic--Ted in South Carolina, I think his name was--another infamously awkward moment in TTD history. They supposedly do the first broadcast of the show live, after all.



*You know it's a weird show when an Osbourne is one of the most normal people on the stage.

Agreed on basically everything except that I think this was thought out...Governor wanted to start a war and at that point, he knew killing Hershel would start one. Killing Michone might cause some riffs, but he knew everyone had Hershel's back.

But especially agreed on the war scenes...they can all hit zombie's in the head mid-sprint but can't so much as graze someone in the wide open with a militia of machine guns?

Love the scene with Hershel...though it was brutal, I loved how they brought his story arch back around when Rick was saying you could come back from being a bad person. Moment of zen right before decapitation.

Looks good but I'm kind of getting weary of any AMC show assuming that if they play some indie folk music while characters have a cathartic look on their faces, it automatically makes for good television. Not really this clip specifically but having watched a good amount of AMC shows now, I am getting a little tired of it. It is tantamount to the French assuming that any movie is good that shows a depressed, good looking French guy smoking a cigarette with no dialogue (and yes, I came to that realization when Family Guy pointed it out).

I think the second half of season 4 should be pretty decent, as long as they're not in one place too long. It seemed like season 3 was kind of lethargic by the end. Having to spend half of season 4 at the prison wasn't great either, but the little interlude with the Governor helped break it up. I think the show does better when the cast is on the run with a horde of zombies at their back and obstacles in front of them along the way. Theres more action, less constant talking. I still love the show, and I watch little TV these days so I don't really have any great shows to compare to, but that's my opinion. Loved season one and most of season two, like where they're going at the mid season finale in four here.

I'd like to see some more borderline characters to add some diversity to the cast. Some chaotic neutral guys like Merle, someone who doesn't like to follow the rules, but isn't necessarily always leaning towards the bad or the good. It seems like we've got a lot of good guys that follow the same patterns: Glen, Maggie, Rick (Although he's flakey at times), Hershel (RIP), Darryl, Beth, etc. Tyreese is good, but he's been pushed a few times and could bring an interesting dynamic. Carol was just getting interesting as a character before she was dismissed, hated her before that little transformation. Shane obviously had an interesting stance, but there was no way he was going to survive the way he was going. Actually, they should just bring Merle back from the dead, that would work for me.
