The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Deep down inside, I think Rick still cares a great deal for Shane. Because of this, I can't see him taking Shane out unless he was not given a choice.

I think they have their Mexican standoff this week.

Rick isn't the only person on the farm with access to a gun (or a crossbow).

In the "graphic novel" i.e., comic book to those of us who don't put on airs, it wasn't Rick who took Shane out. Plus, Shane was history way earlier in that story than where they are now.

No shit?! Thanks for the info.

Rick mentioned the need to save ammunition to Shane when they were driving to drop Randall off. He said something about using a knife if the situation allowed.

So maybe Rick shanks Shane.

You should have told him "You throw like Carl"!

Speaking of Carl, I can't help but think he's going to be put into another situation with a walker before the season's over.

The last episode really focused on his role or lack thereof in the group. Being the only kid left in the group certainly doesn't help things. You can see through his various actions in the last episode, that he's trying to find his place in the world.

Seriously tho...did you see him throw rocks? Grimey needs to shoot himself for raising a son that throws like Lamar from Revenge of the Nerds.

Interesting take on Shane...I haven't read the comics but seems likely enough. I have been looking for some kind of foreshadowing...I saw Dale eating it but wasn't sure who else outside of that.

If you follow any shows on BBC America you see a trend to kill people off every season in order to keep a show "fresh". We could see something similar in The Walking Dead. I'm thinking they could come across a number of survivors that could add different types of persons and change the dynamic constantly. Alas! What will probably happen is this will be the last season because of ratings, cost, complaints from religious/political groups, etc.

I meant after season 3. Sorry for any confusion. It's very hard for such good writing (relatively speaking for a tv series) to continue for more than 2 seasons. Writers want to move on. Cast members want other projects. Budgets get changed. Zombies get unionized.
It's just business, baby! :tongue2:

The story arcs in the comic are really good, from what I've read on Wiki. If they somehow have rights to that it shouldn't take much more than a few monkeys in a room to put together a solid show.

They obviously need more monkeys right now, though.
