The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

They probably decided against the limb-hacking because that would have been a huge pain to recreate week-to-week with live actors--all the people hopping around on one leg, arms strapped out of sight, etc.

As for love affairs, guess Herschel came about as close to that as they're going to get.

Come to think of it, though, "Everybody has the disease dormant in their system" would be a good answer to the question of what the CDC doctor whispered to Rick. Not sure if Rick has acted like that's what he was told since then. hmmm.

I've thought the same thing. Or that outside of Georgia, nobody is alive and that the walkers will never die unless they kill all of them (which is impossible). Only reason I bring up the latter is because Rick is very hesitant to leave the farm and guards it at (basically) all costs. Totally with you on Dale's death though...to tear him open that quick was completely unrealistic. Should have either scratched away slowly or have him be bitten. I could have used 2 minutes less talking so Dale could die more slowly and realistically.

As for departures from the comic book...I doubt AMC can appease the segment of viewers who read the comic book and keep all their viewers (yes, I am insinuating that not many people read comic books anymore). I think the comic is just a starting point, not what predicates the script.

I wish they had a dude like me on this show. My only line, repeated every episode would be "...go [censored] yourself."...like grimey says "Hey, let's go run into town and save the only person that may end up putting up a fight against us staying in this zombie force fielded sanctuary"...cue my line..."...go [censored] yourself" /scene

Oh, KY-LE...Did you know you have a spiritual double writing TWD recaps on the 'net?

http://http://videogum.com/486161/the-walking-dead-s02e11-12-angry-zombies/tv/recaps/

He puts his gun down and says "take him away." Uh. WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO, KING GRIMES? Daryl leads the guy out of the barn because Grimes said to take him away. What on Earth? If I was a member of a rag tag group of survivors in a collapsed society surrounded by flesh-eating undead corpses and someone said "take him away" I would tell that person to go [censored] himself.

I, like most here, was all too happy to see Dale die. I'd had enough of him and his whinyness.

But after thinking about it, I think Dale's death is only going to heighten the number of "moral struggles" that the group self-inflicts. I can easily see a routine zombie-apocalypse decision being clouded up by someone saying "You GUUUIIIIISSSEEEEEEE, what would DAAALE want us to do???"

Finally had time to watch this on the DVR last night.

Here are my thoughts (not that anyone really cares):

Why the hell didn't Carl cap the zombie? He acts like a little badass now, so I am not sure why he would have a "moral compass" when pointing the gun at the zombie.

Ding Dong Dale's Dead!!! :groove2: Wish that would have happened a few episodes ago.

Sophia's mom needs to have a close encounter with a walker and get Daled. I really don't like her character development.

I would have liked the barn execution scene to be Grimes shooting the guy right after Carl says "Shoot him, dad." and then turn to his son and say "Next time, you get to do this to see how it feels."

Needs more T-dog.

Not sure whether more is actually needed but they ought to at least have the guy do something. He's just there like a lump in the scenes that he's even in.

Yes. This. He is background. Hell, the suicidal daughter is getting more play than an original "Grimes Group" member.

Me and all my friends are saying the same thing. I like T-Dog from the limited play they have given him. I have a feeling they are making him lie in the wait until Merle comes back.

Aside from Dale, there isn't one character I really want to die now (other than Randall). Lauri maybe...she is mind numbingly dumb and I just can never justify her decisions. I would have said Hershel, but I like him now. Sophia's mom intrigues me some with the Daryl situation (the scene where she thought he would hit her and she still stood there was pretty powerful imo). Everybody is down on Karl but I think he is just acting like an 8 year old would honestly...haven't we all thrown rocks and done stupid stuff at that age against our parents will? He has no other kids to grow up with now, so he is trying to adapt and assert himself in a group of adults.

Any predictions on who else dies in the last two episodes? The producer already said main characters are going to die (plural)...hate to say it, but my guess is either Glenn or Darryl...just a hunch.

I'll go out on a limb and say Shane in an upset...they've played this whole love triangle shit as far and as hard as they can, it has to end somewhere, and it's already been foreshadowed several times. I think Glenn is safe, I think Lori is safe just because they never kill off the most mind-numbingly dumb character in any show (and Dale, the other one everyone hoped would buy it, already did)...so if it's plural I also go with blondie (maybe goes down in a blaze of sex volcano with Shane, or decides she was with Dale all the way after all, or something) and/or Darryl...they have phased him out of the main plot a bit, perhaps to get rid of him. Another possibility is Sophia's mom, that's sort of a wild card. I think Herschel, Rick, Lori, Karl, Maggie, and Glenn are safe, and the others (T-Dog, suicide blonde, the other tall weird dude) aren't really main characters.
