The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I don't know if they save costs filming it that way or what, but it is really, really annoying.
I think it just enables them to have more episodes, so more ads. I don't know what else they have going now that BB is done, but I would imagine this is their big money maker. Idiots like me will keep watching because of stupid brand loyalty or whatever, even though the product is crap.

I would guess episodes like last night cost half as much to make because you don't have to pay any of the regulars since they weren't in it. Carol and Beth get paid, but this is the first episode that Beth has been in and Carol was MIA last week so this makes up for it.

TWD, Mad Men, and Halt and Catch Fire are the only AMC shows I watch, but Mad Men is ending and doesn't have the following of TWD so they probably want to pump out as many episodes as they can for the least amount of money. Honestly there are very few things that the writers have come up with on TWD that have impressed me.

It was definitely the worst of the season, but I think a lot of that has to do with just how awesome the first three episodes were. I did like the escape scene. And something about the Walkers in broad daylight added a little something to their scaryness for some reason. And Carol showing up at the end is enough to entice you for the next episode. Even though that probably won't be for 2 more weeks.

There were some glaring problems for me.

Why do the hospital people keep all their cars in a fenced in Walker lot?

How did Beth know which key went to the elevator? There were 10 keys there and she went right for the one she needed.

she didn't even let that crushed up pill dissolve before putting it in the syringe. Then she just jabbed it in his arm without looking for a vein. WTF

Hershel was a vet. So there's some expectation that she probably knew her way around some things in the medical field.

The only problem with that explanation is the fact she just blindly started following these weirdos at the hospital without asking any questions, or giving any information, how did anyone know she may have some experience.

One other question I had...when Beth looked at the picture of Dawn with the fat cop, was that the Gorman fucker she was banging, or was that supposedly the other guy in charge (forget his name, Hansen?) from before when supposedly things went bad at the hospital? Minor point I guess.

So am I to understand that the rapist cops only "rescued" Beth because they wanted to rape her later on?

I just feel like the level of human depravity in this show (outside, of course, from Rick's group) is beyond unrealistic.

EDIT: And, yes, I realize the irony of expecting realism from a show about the zombie apocalypse, but damn... there's no way some humans get that bad to just accept 1) Trapping and eating other humans; and 2) Raping them with impunity while a female leader looks the other way. There are individuals that could certainly go that way, but it I can't imagine it becoming acceptable in a group setting.

Eh. The world has gone to shit, there's nobody to tell them NOT to rape or eat people (lord of the flies type deal), maybe they were pieces of shit before the apocalypse. There's enough for me to believe this is how people would act a year into a zombie wasteland.

Yeah, I think most people don't need to be told not to rape or eat people. Just because the world has gone to shit doesn't mean they start acting like animals in the wild. They did, afterall, live and learn in a civilized world for most of their lives.

Fans of “The Walking Dead” (and there lots of them; more than 17 million people watched the Season 5 premiere) were treated to a bonus scare Sunday, during the premiere of episode 4 of the current season. Promos aired during the episode warned DirecTV customers that as a result of contract disputes, the second half of the “Walking Dead” Season 5 might be blacked out.

Hard to believe, but without the conventions and rules of society, we are all just animals with big brains.
