The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

"What kind of gamer were you? RPG? SMUT? Race car?"

What the fuck? Is there really a smut genre? Or is this just another example of [Mark May]ty writing?

That caught me off guard too. I understand they're trying to make Eugene very socially awkward, but really? Whose idea was it to throw Smut in there? I didn't realize that constituted a whole genre of it's own, I figured it was just something the Japanese created. They could have gone with sports games, FPS games, puzzles, action...nope, had to be Smut  Either they're trying really hard to make him seem awkward, or it's just poor writing.

No, which was probably my biggest gripe. Every group they've shown walking there has had someone express their skepticism on Terminus yet not a single one of them thought "oh hey maybe we should scout this place out and see what it is all about before we all go marching inside handing ourselves over."

I also found it to be pretty ridiculous how easy it was to just WALK RIGHT IN THE FRONT FUCKING GATE without seeing a single person. Quite a secure location this Terminus place is...

I think we'll likely figure out why next week but my gripe was also that they weren't more guarded walking in to an unlocked area after they just experienced the worst mankind had to offer with the Governor's clan. The only justification to me would be that they are so desperate from being on the road that they are just going to roll the dice and trust whoever is in there.

I guess I just disagree with everyone in here on this episode, I really enjoyed it. I like the biker/redneck clan Darryl is a part of and showing his gradual adaptation to the group, which should be easy considering they are basically a group of Darryl's. That one dude that lied about the rabbit learned a pretty tough lesson, which I was a fan of. I also think we learned what we all suspected of mullet scientist...he doesn't have the answer. He thinks the dinosaurs were wiped out by a similar strand as what the zombie's have? Yeah, not putting my eggs in that basket. I also love how eerie Terminus was...you know it is some type of trap and since I have not read the comics, I have no insight on whether they are cannibals or not. And finally, I thought the tunnel scene was awesome personally...zombie attacks in a creepy ass dark tunnel that has caved in...isn't that the type of action everyone has been clamoring for? Definitely agree that the Maggie-Glenn reunion was way too predictable and cliche...not a fan of it. As for logical inconsistencies, I agree there are a little bit too many but if every character made rational decisions at every turn, there would be no threat and it would not be worth watching. Anyways, I am pumped for the finale next week.

He's dead meat. Along with all the non-central characters. I'm not convinced he's much of a scientist anyway. And Carl needs to die! I'm tired of his whining!

C'mon, we've already had a season of depressed, psycho Rick. If Carl dies, he'll slip right back into that and we'll have to relive all of it...unless he blows his brains out or something. If Judith and Carl both kick the bucket, Rick probably ends it all. That would be something.

You know someone is going to die...it pretty much has to happen. The question just is who. My list, with the likeliest first and least likely last:

-Beth (I imagine she is already dead)
-Spongebob (Dude is just asking for it)
-Sasha (likewise)
-Abe's GF (Rosita I think, she is way too hot to survive too long)
-Chick traveling with Glen (forget her name, but it could be time for her to go now that Glen ant Maggie have reunited. But then there's the fact she was with the other group and Maggie doesn't know it yet to keep her around)
-Carol (Wouldn't be surprised really, she has lived the longest of any female, might be time for her to go)
-Tyreese (kind of just there, but I think they want to do more with him)
-Elvis impersonator scientist (I think "a big reveal" will be he knows exactly jack shit. Can't see them doing that yet)
-Abe (his life's mission is to protect the scientist douche...he will be back to kill him when he finds out)
-Glen (Looks like a mainstay)
-Maggie (She will die, the whole picture thing was way too convenient not to be lame foreshadowing, but I don't think it will happen yet)
-Carl (I think the dynamic with Rick and Michonne is too important to lose for next year)
-Judith (Can't see them stringing her along this far to off her in the finale)
-Rick (He doesn't die in the comics, can't see them offing him now)
-Michonne (too much backstory involved this year to off her now)
-Darryl (The badass and one redeeming character? Are we kidding?)

I really don't have many guesses on deaths other than Bob and Sasha (good riddance, neither one holds my interest whatsoever). I hope it isn't Tyreese, his character got pretty interesting this season. And frankly I like Beth quite a bit, really hoping she isn't dead yet but I kind of think she is. Maybe Carol? She seems about destined to go, my guess is Tyreese tries to save her though.

Other way to think about the whole waltzing in thing is that if they have scouts....they intentionally made it easy to get in, did they do that to make it impossible to get out? There's no way Mary didn't hear them all coming, yet she had her back turned to them...that alone was a creepy-assed dynamic. Of course all of that does not explain why they were bull in a china shop going in themselves, but it could explain it from the Terminus perspective. The gates could already be locked behind them.

raw

Rosita is the hotest thing to come along in some time, although Maggie turned out alright after the 2nd season. Plus she's got that hot Brittish accent when she's off camera.

Someone always dies in the season finale and the mid season finales. Beth would certainly seem likely, and they did quite a bit with her before the disappearance. That would be crazy if she ends up being dinner for the group, could you imagine Maggie's face? Bob and Sasha can certainly go away, they don't bring anything to the show imo, but I would say they should keep Tyreese. Tyreese has turned out alright ever since the death of Karen, it's made him a more interesting character. The question is what he'll do next now that the Karen plot is resolved. Rick's not going, nor Michonne, and probably not Carl or Judith. Carol has tied up a lot of loose ends, so it's possible they could off her.

I too think that Eugene (Elvis scientist) is full of crap and he "thinks" he knows all the answers when he probably just heard a couple details over that transmissions from Washington. Abraham will be pissed when he finds out, he might go crazy on him. Maybe Eugene never actually knew anything, but he made Abraham think he did to keep himself alive because he knew he'd never live without protection. In any even, Eugene will most likely be around as a major plot for season 5, along with Abraham and hopefully Rosita.

Daryl and Glen certainly look to be safe, and maybe it is foreshadowing that Maggie could end up gone with the burning of the picture. What if they turned it around and Glen happened to be the one that died? Cool twist that won't happen though. I think Maggie will make it to season 5 at least.

All that leaves is Tara, the girl that was traveling with Glen. She says that she's now going to follow Abraham and his crew now that Glen and Maggie are back together. I'm not sure what her angle is. I kind of understand if she's feeling some guilt about the prison attack and started following Glen, but I started to wonder if she was having feelings for him after awhile. That whole team up was a weird dynamic anyway "Hey, the guy I was following and was a mentor to me just happened to behead your father-in-law and mentor. Wanna be friends?" She had the option to travel with Abraham in a vehicle after she hurts her leg, but opts to stick with Glen and risk certain doom in the tunnel. Then, when she's likely to die when her foot is caught, and she tells Glen to leave her, he stays and nearly seals his own doom for this girl? Just didn't make a lot of sense, and it was a bit awkward when Maggie finds Tara and Glen together. Just sayin'...maybe she not 100% lesbo.

Hard to believe the actress playing Maggie was born in the States, but still has the accent after moving there as a child. My wife picked up the accent after we lived there for 15 months, but I never did. She worked with a lot more Brits than I did though, so her exposure was more. Funny how that works.

I don't think the science guy will get got just yet. I think he'll have more of an impact in the beginning of the next season.
