The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

You don't need to speak English to get a pilot's license in the zombie apocalypse apparently.

But I went back and re-watched the episode. It really was one of the better episodes they have put out. The Rick and Darryl fight scene was about the only cheesy/unbelievable moment (basically a slow motion explosion scene ala MASH). But at least Rick's Jeep would not start after facing the biggest bullet barrage on a Jeep we have seen since Nam. But everything else was actually extremely well done in my eyes, the rest of the season could (caps lock on COULD) be good.
That is still the worst line in TV history.

I liked the episode for the Negin expo, although I don’t think they needed 55 minutes to basically show that everything was going to fall apart without him in charge. I am going to assume from the dialogue that it was the rotten guts, and not a bite, that has made Gabriel sick, which would open up new cans on inconsistency worms...but I digress.

The Rick and Daryl stuff was embarrassing and unfit for a serious TV drama...it’s almist like the writers are trying to please every type of watcher every episode, and all they do is get everyone bitching because not only can’t they, but they generally aren’t good at their jobs either.

The Dwight/Eugene stuff could go either way, being either one of the more memorable arcs, or a colossal failure. We will see.

Getting sick from the guts would be too inconsistent even for this show imo. I thought the Negan focus was great. Learned a ton about him and about Gabriel, some great dialogue and acting, and I really love how JDM is making you really want to like Negan. His infatuation with people as a resource even when they're trying toscrew him is fascinating. I almost want him to win, minus the fact that 90% of his followers all suck.

The Rick/Darryl drama was incredibly stupid. A much better story would have been if Darryl somehow snuck off with the explosives and Rick went to the sanctuary right after Darryl just blew up the walls. Instead, they had a ridiculous fight scene, with an unbelievable explosion that destroyed the gun they were trying to get back.

I think the Dwight/Eugene story arch is cool so far and I have faith on that one. Also think we're going to learn a lot about Simon, who I really like.

The only reason I didn't hate this episode is because it didn't let me down in any way. It's exactly as stupid as I expected it to be.
I’m gonna choose to completely suspend disbelief and believe that this episode was a full troll job by the writers to the “not enough action” critics. There is no explanation that doesn’t involve total incompetence otherwise.

Well, hence my comment...I don’t think they can, unless they run into “crazy Morgan” somewhere I guess

Why exactly did the garbage people manage to lose the capacity to speak adult English in a couple of years?

I am thinking they are maybe just making them the most hated group ever for when they inevitably get wiped out soon? God they are annoying. And yeah, this episode was not good, not sure I liked any one part of it. But the real kicker is Rick just going there on his own after seeing a helicopter to try and do the same deal he got screwed on with nobody knowing he is there...right after he just got onto everyone about "sticking to the plan"...yeah, fucking stupid. I almost hope the garbage people kill him for the stupidity.

As an aside, for an "All-Out War" it is amazing that not a single character worth mentioning has died yet.

Is that what happened? This is how bad they are at story telling. I thought "the plan" was to go get the stupid garbage people.
