I still find it hard to believe that in this zombie apocalypse and all out war, everyone is still dead set on saying screw everyone else and running off into the wilderness to do their own thing like they are fucking Rambo. How hard is it to stick together when everything else in the world wants to kill you?

It's gotta be this way. I know we just spent a bunch of time turning cars into a moving wall, and flanking this and that and the other thing, and the Sanctuary is surrounded on all sides by zombies to it's kind of impossible to get in right now..........but it's just gotta be this way. we've gotta end it today by throwing a plan together in about 5 minutes.

Is that what happened? This is how bad they are at story telling. I thought "the plan" was to go get the stupid garbage people.

Or it means I am that bad at following But with Rick just seeing the helicopter and wandering off until he ran into their compound, I didn't get the sense that it was part of "the plan" unless I missed something or they just haven't revealed it.

From the dialogue I remember, I think that was part of the plan...which actually makes it worse.

I assume the helicopter is something we'll find out about later. Which is great story telling. Here's something....you have no idea what it is.......in a post apocalyptic zombie world this should freak you out.......and we're not going to reference it again for a month. SUSPENSE!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, I think the entire stupidity of the “plan” is supposed to make us sympathetic to Daryl and the Supremes when the 4 of them basically say “fuck this, this plan is stupid, we’re doing this now” which will of course backfire spectacularly right as Rick arrives with the up up upers because the plan was GOING TO WORK ALL ALONG ZOMG

And I assume we end on a similar cliff hanger where Negan is about to club someone in the mid-season finale once the plan inevitably goes to hell?

Oh I imagine it will be worse than that even...it will be a everyone-has-a-gun-pointed-at-everyone, Reservoir Dogs style standoff, as Maggie tries to trade the asshole prisoners for Daryl and the Supremes and Gabriel, while Rick waits with the junk people with guns pointed at everyone in both groups and Eugene is pointing a gun at Negan and Rick and Dwight is pointing a gun at Daryl and Negan and Gregory is pissing his pants in the corner while Coral and the new guy show up magically at just that time. Then, fade to black...and we hear about 1500 unseen rounds being fired

Yeah, they said last night there would be a “shocking death” at the end. In the opener, Rick was standing over 2 graves. I think both get knocked off in the middie. One should be obvious based on last nights episode and the crossover news (it will likely take 45 minutes to get to it though). And the second “shocker” has been spoiled already for the most part:
