The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Hell no. I gave that show one more chance, and that first episode was so epically awful in every conceivable way that I am done with it. Worst spinoff ever?

Worse than the Joey spinoff of Friends? Yes. If Game of Thrones made a spinoff that was nothing but Loras Tyrell sucking dicks and dancing in the flowers of Highgarden, it would still be better than Fear the Walking Dead.

It's not worse than TWD. It's the same damn show.
No, it's worse. Much worse. It's worse because the acting is a lot worse. It's worse because teen angst is like half the plot. And it's worse because not only do they break their own rules, and the rules of common sense, but they also break most of TWD rules too. It's worse. Worse than the Joey spinoff. Worse than the Jennifer Love Hewlitt spinoff after Party of Five. Worse than AfterMASH. Worse than Joanie and Chachi. It's worse than a Coral and Enid spinoff. Worse than everything.

Apologies if this has been discussed earlier - Any chance that the Jesus guy from the Hilltop was/is really a Saviors deep plant to convince Alexandria to attack them, etc.? He had to know that the Saviors were a much larger organization than just the one outpost they breached and he manipulated Rick & Co. into starting something they really shouldn't have.

Not to go into comic book spoilers, but... Nope.

Ok, gotcha. It would all make more sense to me if he was somehow with the Saviors, though. The whole second half of the season seemed so contrived in order to get to the big moment at the end, which, of course, it was by the showrunners/comic book, but there wasn't really a good in-plot catalyst for all of it. We're hungry and have a pregnant girl, we have vegetables and are getting picked on by this Negin guy. Ok, we'll take care of that for you so we can have vegetables, but we we'll just take your word for the extent of things and won't do any real investigation on our own.

I think it's more likely that Enid is a plant, and has been all along.

I can see that and she's probably fed information back to the Saviors, but I'm not sure she's done anything affirmatively to push Rick & Co. into their current circumstances. On the other hand, Jesus just happens to show up out of nowhere and we're off and running to oblivion. Not saying that he is a sleeper, but he might as well be for all the good he's done them.

Right now, if the yacht sunk and killed majority of the characters on "FTWD" I wouldn't care.

The only two characters that are compelling to me are Victor Strand and Daniel Salazer, and they aren't the two characters the series is built around (yet).

Just like when Sam died on "TWD", I'd actually appreciate if "FTWD" killed off Chris.

Oh [Mark May].....I can't believe I forgot this because it hit me IMMEDIATELY when he started talking at the beginning of the show. "That guy" is Trevor.

Stephen-Ogg.jpg

The voice is a dead giveaway. This guy is also the one who got punked by Mike in the parking garage on Better Call Saul. Steven Ogg's the name.
