The Smurficial Boise State Broncos Thread

Watched it on SC this morning. Was the lead after the 1st round of commercials. NBA hoops lead off the show (no surprise here) and then some analyst talk. Then they came back and showed BSU stuff.

Boise women's tennis versus Jim F-in' Tressel in trouble with the NCAA after the Arkansas game deal???

They are not in the same interest level at all, news wise.

I think there are valid points to be made about unfair press treatment of tOSU, but I don't think this is the strongest example.

I don't know if anyone should be throwing that stone here....

In Ohio State you have one of the most historically relevant football programs.

In Boysee State you have a truck driver's school that has a funny-colored field.

The football team was included in the charges. If you think ESPN wouldn't take that fact and run with it to a tune much greater than it has with BSU, you haven't been paying attention.

Only secondary violations for football. I wouldn't expect that to get the same coverage, and honestly, it shouldn't.

Secondary violations aren't quite up to the same level of importance as one of the most respected coaches in college football basically lying and hiding information to keep starters, including one of the most well-known players in the country, eligible.

Of course. BTW the boyzee coaches are using the same excuse the tOSU players used. But I don't hear schadd or fowler clamoring how coaches should be held to a higher standard. Tress made the choice to not tell the NCAA (or the compliance dept.) what he knew and he had more than one chance. But coach Tress didn't buy the stuff or give them cash to get by. His violation was not coming forward when he should have. These coaches were actually giving them money and housing and "special gifts" that aren't available to "regular students". I don't give a shit if it's less than a dollar the rules are the rules. It doesn't state "less than X amount". Like Bigwoof stated, you can't have it both ways...unless you're the worldwide leader.

Ohio State is a legendary football program with numerous national championships and Heisman winners.

Boise has a blue field.

As buckeyesin07 has already noted - clearly you haven't been paying attention.

This rampant and dynamic abuse of the rules merits a two hour expose on ESPN primetime this Sunday (obviously bumping Sunday night baseball). A live chat on ESPN Page2 AND it's my understanding the next series of ESPN's 30 for 30 will lead off with "Blue Balls - How Boise State dry-humped the NCAA"

Anything less is a direct slap in the face to the Big 10, Ohio State and college football fans ACROSS THE [censored]ING PLANET.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner--I was trolling on a Georgia football website. Oh, wait--I wasn't.
