The Smurficial Boise State Broncos Thread

why would football get a bowl ban for a major infraction in the tennis program? Certainly they'll be punished for the extra food and rides they provided for recruits *gasp* but wouldn't the tennis team take the brunt of the rest of the punishment?

In all, the NCAA found the total value of impermissible benefits over five years was $4,934 for all of the housing, transportation and meals provided to 63 incoming student-athletes. All services ranged from $2.34 to a maximum of $417.55 and have been reimbursed by the student-athletes.
I wonder how long it took the NCAA to track down those Taco Bell receipts.

Didn't hear a thing after almost 2 more hours of SportsCenter. Of course, in fairness, I didn't hear a single thing about tOSU, either. I'll check back when College Football Live is on later, its back to CNN for my homework background noise.

Do you get hazardous duty pay for watching that much sportscenter? My head would have asploded in about ten minutes of that drivel. Or have you spent the last several years building up an immunity to iocane powder-- I mean, sportscenter?

Hey, that's my parade you're raining on there, mister. If I want to pretend Boise's football team is going to be slapped around a little, leave me to my delusions. Please.

They shoulda got popped with a lack of instutitional control not because the tennis team went to Hot N' Now...but because Legarrette Blount whipped that azz on National TV...

But later that year, Boise State self-reported a major violation in women's tennis, in which one tennis player was allowed to compete before being officially enrolled.
That led the NCAA to take the secondary violations and major violation and lump them into one case, slapping the more serious "lack of institutional control" charge on top of the existing violations.

You have to actually be enrolled as a student now when you compete? :shake: Somewhere, Dion Sanders is looking puzzled.

Nah, I just had it on for background noise doing homework. I switched it back to CNN when I realized it was going to be an endless loop of the same NBA clips.

You're a bigger man than I am. Can't stomach ESPN. Pure garbage.

Pretty gentle and apologetic on CFB Live, with Joe Schad ending with a recent convo with SEC commish Mike Slive concerned with the NCAA enforcement division.

Schad "what Mike Slive wants to know is are they spending their time investigating the things that are most important and are thy rendering decisions on these things in a timely matter"

Fowler: "both gooey questions, there is worse stuff going on than this out there"

:tic:
