The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

Definitely agree. That's why I would have no problem with OU being in ahead of OSU. Barring something crazy.
If OSU wins 62-24 and OU wins 52-45 forget it we will jump OU. Remember one key thing with the playoff committee..

It's how you look.

If we work over two straight teams (which would mean we absolutely annihilated the two big ten teams ND struggled with) and OU shows near zero improvement on defense I think we will get the nod.

I most likely wont be too upset if we get left out because OU certainly has every right to the final spot.

Having said that, just because OU would win doesnt mean they'll stay ahead of us if we win.

It'll be how the two teams look this weekend IMO and if OU puts a hurt on Texas then yes they'll go.

Exactly the kind of craziness I was imagining.

LOL.... I wrote this to my brother and decided to post it on any article about this stupid ass Playoff race.

Regardless of Ohio State & Oklahoma let's address THIS issue. Clemson and ND don't deserve shit handed to them. Instead of ND sitting @ home they should be playing Clemson in the ACC championship. Why the hell not? They basically play in the ACC anyway. Clemson is sleepwalking their way into they playoffs @ the NUMBER 2 spot after playing.....who? No, really. That's 2014 Florida State treatment right there. Not to mention, no team without a conference championship has ever gotten in the Playoffs above #4. I don't care if it's OSU or OU. If they get the green light the only proper thing to do is to rank them @ #3. Sure, they're both flawed. You don't need bother pointing that out. The BS argument ND fans are going to give everyone is they're undefeated. Undefeated after barely escaping the 5-7 Fighting Condoms last night? Or letting the team Ohio State's playing next week come back from a 24-7 lead? Regardless, they have one less opportunity to lose (perhaps by 29 points or say a sorry ass North Carolina team, we'll never know). So stick em @ #4 if they think they're good enough to take on Bama. Otherwise, have the balls to play Clemson in a goddamn conf championship game. It'd boost both team's credibility. Sorry Clemson, but the way I see it an ACC conference win against PITT (or honestly anyone else you've played) isn't good enough to earn the #2 spot. GA, Ohio State, Oklahoma.... don't care. But none of them should be sitting @ #4 come Sunday.

No, they'll drop bama to 4 against Clemson.

Oh goody.....bc Alabama Clemson isn't something we've seen before. Clemson will get obliterated because I have no clue if they're actually good or can just beat crappy ACC teams and TA&M.

Georgia plays ND, wins or maybe they go to OT? Any of this sounding familiar?

Then, yes, we watch Bama play Georgia in a game everyone already saw....

Based on my read of the CFP committee...

ND and Bama are both in regardless at this point. Clemson has a layup against Pitt. Georgia would be in with a win. If Bama beats UGA, then it is obviously between OSU and OU for the 4th spot. I think they have already tipped their hand, they want to pick OU over OSU based on style points throughout the season. I think OSU needs Texas to beat OU a second time to have a real chance of being in.

The dumbest part of it all is we had national media going on air after OSU beat UM and saying "finally we have something to debate" ... no you dolts, having to debate this in the first place is idiotic and we should have a system where there isnt a debate between two power conferences getting a total of 1 team in. Having to choose between two 1-loss conference champs that seem to be almost identical shows what a farce the whole process is in picking these teams arbitrarily.

Yep, we need Georgia and Oklahoma to lose while we win our game.

I'm fine with it. Similar to last year, we gave them a reason to exclude us by not just losing to an average team - we got blown out by an average team.

Shame on us.

The point is, there will almost always be a spot that there is a lot of guesswork in picking who gets that spot, and a team with a loss will get in. So virtually every year the "every game matters" mantra is disregarded because you aren't going to get 4 perfect teams, not from power conferences anyway.

As opposed to shame on Bama for losing to Auburn last year, eh?

Who gave them their second loss? We didn't just lose to Iowa. We lost to Oklahoma, too.

My point is that if your argument is you cant lose a game and still make the CFP, you are dead wrong.

No one is making that argument. No one should've expected a CFP bid with 2 losses last year.

As for this year, our loss looks worse than Oklahoma's so I won't feel cheated if it keeps us out. Now, if they lose this Saturday...
