The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

Home boy who had Auburn #5 last week decided after watching them get bailed out against a terrible Arkansas team that they are now only the 6th best team in the country

These crackpot voters are the reason the SEC gets jacked up so much. The logic here is of course "Auburn really isnt that bad, Arkansas is just much improved!" which creates a false view of "strength"

I’ll be interested to see if the playoff committee fairly assesses schedules (I.e record against the top 10 / top 25) when all conferences are actually ranked. There are some overstated W’s being earned right now that I can see being used as a data point to fit a narrative. Ultimately will they be biased by AP and coaches polls or stay pure to their system (whatever that flavor will be this year)?

The “well that team was ranked this when they beat them” narrative has always been a pet peeve of mine. Final ranking should be the end all be all. If you beat a “top 10” team in week 1 and said team ends up un ranked with 5 losses it’s absurd to claim that as a elite win in the end.

I’m not getting my undies in a bunch yet. They can’t legitimately rank teams that haven’t played a down, so they’re going with what they’ve got.

my chuckle is what to do about Iowa State. First place in the Big Mess, but looked like dog shit against Louisiana at home in week one. Played like all they wanted to do was get off the field and go home.

The disrespect.... smh
Actually, it was a reaction to what I saw this weekend and wondering why. Coaches putting all their talent into offense? More running QBs making defenses look bad? Refs calling interference more often? Targeting? Almost always called on a DB. When Alabama has to score 62 to beat ol’ Miss, when Texas and Okie combine for over a hundred points and need four OTs to finish, when Florida blows a twenty point lead... it looks different than past seasons.
