• Follow us on Twitter @buckeyeplanet and @bp_recruiting, like us on Facebook! Enjoy a post or article, recommend it to others! BP is only as strong as its community, and we only promote by word of mouth, so share away!
  • Consider registering! Fewer and higher quality ads, no emails you don't want, access to all the forums, download game torrents, private messages, polls, Sportsbook, etc. Even if you just want to lurk, there are a lot of good reasons to register!
There are two websites that I care about a lot, that is BP and GameSpot. Both underwent redesign in the past few months. BP has emerged far and away the less buggier of the two, and I am happy about that. But BP is also a smaller site (compared to GS). And GS just changed a couple of weeks ago, and there has been a tremendous amount of subtle, but stupid design decisions. While I might nitpick about certain features that disappeared from BP, I like the fact that the design decisions were sound, and based on logic and practicality. So what I'm trying to say is, keep doing what you guys have been doing! I just love BP.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I also appreciate ideas and criticisms, so keep it all coming. All I want is for BP to be relevant, enjoyed by its core (registered) membership, and highly functional in the modern web.

I miss the neg rep.....there's a small group, mostly from the north, who deserve to receive it now and again. Just responding to those fools is not enough; we need to be able to let everyone know just from their negative rep what they are.

I liked the listing of the 10 most recently posted threads (the number od threads displayed was user configurable) and I loved the fact that when I clicked on one of those thread links, it took me to the first post since the last time I visited that thread. That was the single most valuable feature to me of the site as it enabled me to "catch up" on everything I had missed in a thread since the last time I visited that thread. I miss that a lot. Other than that, I miss the search, which you are working on.

The "New Posts" feature is very similar, but I also miss the easily accessible top 10. Further, the old rep system was nice, if only for personal piece of mind

You can still do neg rep. All you have to do is "like" everyone but the person who has offended. That way they fall relative to everyone else. A bit time consuming - but effective.

My first reaction to the new site was skepticism because it was new and I am not. But I have come to like it much better than the old. Even using "new posts" in lieu of the top 10 list has its advantages (I get involved in some of the non-football threads that interest me.)
