The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL)

Oh...........you mean "Ready, Fire, Aim"? Where'd they get this idiot?:vrabel:

He is a graduate of Stanford University (A.B.) and University of California, San Francisco (M.D.). He's an ophthalmologist.

He became the Chancellor at University of California, Irvine (UCI) and conducted an exhaustive 9 month search to hire a Dean for their new law school.
He decided upon Duke law professor Erwin Chemerinsky - an Ultra Extreme Liberal.
Drake made the decision on his own, rather than formally asking the regents. (?)
Drake made EC an offer and signed a binding contract with him.
Drake drew heat (flames) for his choice and fired EC before he reported for work.
EC brought heat and Drake re-hired him.
Drake's Modus Operandi: "Lots of jargon - very little substance."

Where in either the link you post or any other source does it say that Drake hired [scary font] Ultra Extreme Liberal[/scary font] alone? Everything that I could find showed a normal university search and hiring committee and process. What Drake did do--most likely with the behind the scenes pressure of local Republican Billionaire and UC donor Donald Bren--was unilaterally pull the job offer.

There's no need to make this a frickin' poli-forum shitshow. Drake's judgement in firing Chemerinsky is certainly open to discussion, but you seemingly want to have it both ways and disparage him for the firing while at the same time painting him with some partisan brush for hiring said, [scary font]Ultra Extreme Liberal[/scary font] in the first place even though there is no evidence that I could find alleging that he did so unilaterally and outside of normal university processes.

Did you read the reference that I provided?
http://www.landgrantholyland.com/20...-ohio-state-president-michael-drake-uc-Irvine

Count down 50 lines and see if you can read:
"Drake said that he made the decision on his own, rather than formally asking the regents."
"Drake a dit qu'il a pris la décision de son propre chef, plutôt que de demander formellement les regents."
"Drake dijo que él tomó la decisión por su cuenta, en lugar de pedir formalmente a los regents."

If you like looking for evidence, you may enjoy:

http://www.csun.edu/pubrels/clips/Sept07/09-17-07M.pdf

"Drake has insisted that Chemerinsky didn't lose the dean's position because of his politics, saying
that it was only because he expressed himself in a polarizing way."

Please stop with your frickin' poli-baiting; I am not falling for it. 'Ava g'day.

Either way, I'm lovin' this. Drake and his a** lickers are on the defensive. PARTY!!!!! :jt::urban1:8D :slappy:
When Gordon Gee appointed Jon Waters as the new Director, he ruffled some feathers internally because Waters was the first Director EVER who did NOT have a PhD.
With a new President and a presented opportunity to "correct this travesty" (lol), those close to Drake jumped on it with both feet.

Something to keep in mind now: there has NEVER been a female Director at OSU. Do you think this might look like an opportunity to someone?
Also, remember Drake might think a band is supposed to look like Stanford's or UCSF's where he went to school!

I've heard from some people that the School of Music is trying to fully envelop the marching band into their department so they can get some of the money that has been given to the band. Also they want to convert the style of band too.
