It’s going to be a Bischel, O’Conner, or Josh Newman type of guy. They are going to target guys who view this job as a destination and not a stepping stone so that is going to eliminate pretty much 90% of the field.


Stricklin isn’t going anywhere. Between the money and the recently announced facilities upgrades he’s been clamoring for, he is pretty much married to Uga now


It’d be great to pull a big name but there’s no real reason to believe this search will go any different than the last

Can't really see tOSU going after a terminated coach.....see Gene going after a seated coach with a track record of winning program(s). Kinda seems to be his style. Beals was overpaid for his accomplishments, but underpaid for his position in a major school. Pretty sure Gene recognizes this, and given my predilection earlier, he might open the purse strings for the right, visible, coach. Go Bucks! Make this hire count!

Maybe thats why Gene took so long to get rid of him? No interest in coaching at OSU for baseball? Ugh I'm sick. I kick myself in the ass every year for not going into coaching a long time ago. Would've been football but still this is not good

It's THE Ohio State University, there's probably a lot of interest; however, not necessarily from what could be considered Gene Smith's "A List" of candidates, etc.

No A-list candidate is coming to a cold weather school. TSUN, with all their money, resources and recent success in baseball, couldn't hold onto their coach, who just bolted for a mediocre, middling warm weather program. He did so because he realizes that he has a better chance of building a NC contending program at Clemson from the ground up than he does of taking tsun to the next level despite a foundation of (by cold weather standards) success in Ann Arbor.
