The Ohio State Baseball (Official Thread)

Another incoming JUCO who looks like a good pickup

Absolutely mashed at Hill college this year, which is in one of the top JUCO leagues. Slash line of .431/.560/.731. Also stole 17 bases

Currently mashing in summer wood bat ball as well with 7 HR in 70 ABs

"Today, Major League Baseball made a proposal to the Major League Baseball Player’s Association regarding the new collective bargaining agreement. While the negotiations are dealing with a wide range of issues, we wanted to bring two items to your attention that have strong implications for amateur baseball, and college baseball in particular.

Draft Eligibility – Under MLB's proposal, players would be eligible for the draft when they are 20 years old AND have been out of high school for two years, beginning with the 2028 draft.

Draft Format – Under the proposal, the MLB Draft would be a hard-slotted draft of 12 rounds, beginning in 2027.

Decreasing the number of rounds of the MLB draft from 20 to 12 is expected to continue the trend of keeping more of the top talent in college."

The good news is the "higher end" JUCO guys slide right in for Simpson and Eckelman.

Plenty of options at catcher. The JUCO guy, will be Sophomore Austin Rose who's tearing it up in summer wood bat ball, and incoming freshman Jeffrey Claycomb from Texas who was a top 15 catcher recruit nationally.

Hopefully no more last-minute ship jumps before the entry window closes at midnight tonight.
