Gauntlet - in the arcade - with the 4 controllers.... I don't give a shit how many players you had - I think we once pumped about 20 bucks each into that game and didn't finish it.....

One game I couldn't beat as a kid was Super Mario World. I finally conquered that game a couple of years ago via a PC emulator.
Two other games I played a lot on the SNES, but never beat was Donkey Kong Country I & III.
