The Guidos from NJ speak

Honestly, I'm confused by the majority of posts in this thread. What is it that we expect out of opposing fans? Do we want them to say "Wow, Ohio State is such a powerhouse. I doubt I'll even bother turing the tv on today because it's just a big waste of my time. Kudos to the Buckeyes for building such an overwhelmingly superior football team."??? I'd rather have these B1G teams have fan bases with some heart. Granted, not PSU level... those guys need to be locked up and studied... But I like seeing Rutgers fans with some optimism. And in case we forget, 22 point underdogs have won games before... in the shoe. Plus, if in some strange bazarro world, we were a 22 point underdog, this board would be full of similar comments, some of them posted by yours truly.

A whole host of Rutgers fans arrived yesterday... and were all over campus.. firing away pictures...
They were treated extremely well by OSU folks... who pointed out key sites.. Mirror Lake etc
OSU folks told them where to go eat... some of the festivities going on...
A number of them have posted "can you believe this... we're playing Ohio State"
have not seen one crazy post about winning... many hoping they show up

May not be many folks that know both teams as well as I do
I'm not sure it's gonna be pretty... Urb's gonna send everyone including the cheerleaders after Nova
and it could get bad... if Rutgers still had James at RB they could stay within 21

You're gonna like their feistiness... there will be 10 Scarlet Knights on the tackle.. they're all about heart
They'll be a fast team... maybe fastest OSU has played this year.. but nowhere as big or physical as they'd have to be

I for one hope they believe they'll beat us by double digits. It makes the plunger hurt worse.

Also, I was talking about the weather for today's game earlier this week. I'm a bit worried about how our QB handles it.

...They still get the plunger.

Close. I want them to say, "Wow, Ohio State is such a powerhouse, I'm going to turn on the game for the privilege of watching them play. I'm going to tell my grandkids in 40 years that I watched my Scarlet Knights play on the SAME field as the scarlet and gray. The same field Woody Hayes once yelled at his players, the referees, the fans, the band, the cheerleaders, the clouds - maybe even some squirrels. The same field Archie Griffin won TWO Heismans. The same field where (insert other stories here). Every touchdown Ohio State scores, I'm going to jump up, grab my ankles, and yell, 'Thank you, Sir, may I have another?' Fuck Michigan!"

I want the Rutgers fans to be THRILLED that they only lost by 39.

RU fans losing respect for Urban because we didn't show restraint.

1. The aforementioned is equivalent to me giving a fuck what a 5 year old thinks.
2. Driving up the score would be kicking a field goal. At least we gave them chances to stop us on 4th down.
3. RU still had their 1st team on the field looking to put more points on the board.

That's why the I was hoping we kept throwing the ball to get JT another 300 yd game. If they keep throwing their 1st team out then you will pay the price

Really, there are few better signs for a football coach than having opposing fans lose respect for him.

I remember very well the opinion of most Buckeye fans toward Urban Meyer when he coached the Gators.

Not that I'd have shared such an opinion, of course ... :paranoid:
