I hope to play fri, sat and sunday that week. Has anyone played Shamrock?

Played there a few times. You can do better. Bring a hard hat. Probably would be one of the last courses I would play in the area.

Shot an 86 first time out. I was happy.

Went to Chapel Hill yesterday and shot in the mid 90's both times. :smash:

Although the wind was blowing 20-30 mph.

I really like Chapel Hill, its just a long drive. IMO you have about 10-12 really nice holes and 6 that are on par with any of the municipal tracks in Columbus.

For some reason I think the ninth hole yardage markers are way off, either that or I am hitting my nine iron about 175 yds.

You are hitting downhill.

Don't know why you're using the yardage markers when there is GPS in the carts to help with yardage.

Last time I played there, they had no GPS carts.

7th hole is a tough one. First time I played it, I made par. Never again.

9 doesn't seem downhill, buy maybe my memory just sucks.

Must be a heck of a drive for you from Quahog.

Flew back home to visit the family during Spring Break.

leave it to a bunch of college kids to pick the shittiest course in the city to host a tournament on. i had a felling shamrock would suck. if you don't mind a long drive, indian springs is awesome. very good shape, pretty hard, and not very crowded.

After years of playing a few rounds a year (hell one year I joined a league and played three times a week), I just do not get the attraction of golf? Why do you guys enjoy it so much?

I like to flyfish. The reasons I enjoy it are the peace and quiet and you can see some of the most beautiful sights on a nice stream (colors in the fall, deer along the banks, bald eagles overhead, etc). What is it in a round of golf you enjoy so?

Its one of very few sports that you can never perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect round of golf. I also enjoy being with a group of three of my friends enjoying the weather. You really learn a lot about yourself by playing golf, especially competitive golf. For me relaxation is not a reason to play. There is nothing relaxing about the way I play golf.

Thump...what years did you play in highschool, if you did?
Just curious if we would've happened to cross paths.

I wouldn't say its the shittiest course in the city, it is just not a great course, in a nice area, where they have to charge too much to play. I mean, it's not the airport course.

I would rather play Indian Springs with the drive (which isn't too bad) or if they are determined to play up North, then go up to Oakhaven. Cheaper, interesting layout. (front is pretty open, back is very tight - got that Thump)

Or head out further west and play Darby Creek.

Played Valhalla about a year and a half ago, shot 79 and had not played for 2 months going in. Putter slid everything right by the hole. (Plus I was kinda pumped up and flew about 3 to 4 greens. Played TPC River Bend and shot 76 last year along with playing Shaker Run (I like it) and shot 76 also.

Haven't played this year and with the work I need to do around the house doesn't look like I'll be playing much :(

Shamrock sucks. Darby is alright have not played there since I was at OSU so can not say what it is like now. Im not familiar with any courses in Ohio anymore but I remember Blackhawk was a nice track back in the day.
