You know what? I can't even blame this Bollman. Outside of a couple of series, he called a heck of a game and the offense was the only reason we weren't run off the team.

This loss goes squarely on the defense. Seriously, 40 pts? 40 [censored]ing pts against an offense we've shut down time and again? They were playing like they'd never seen a read option offense before.

Well, that, unfortunately, goes down to the coaches again. On both sides.

The third week in a row we have been down by 6 with the ball and need to run a 2 minute offense. We go 0-3 in those games, but at least scored in one.

My problem is this...how many times does this need to happen until you prepare your team for this situation. Last week Braxton look confused, and the team looked like they haven't ever practiced a 2 minute drill.

So when we are put in the same position this year I'm thinking...okay we HAD to practice this. No we didn't. It was awful. 2 minutes and 1 time out. We use the time out in the stupidest time possible. And even worse, we have a QB who is just chucking it deep when we have enough time for 10 to 15 yard passes. Then...on 3rd and 5 we spike the ball? It looked to me that Fickell was giving the signal to hurry to the line and run a play...I didn't see him giving the spike the ball sign. But in any case...HOW DO YOU SPIKE THE BALL THERE?!? Awful awful awful decision. We looked so confused. Like it was the first time we have ever needed to score to win a game. Maybe it's because we are young, but it's the last game of the season. You should have enough poise to handle this situation...maybe that just rubs off from the coaches. Not sure.

What I am sure of is we had this one. The refs [censored]ed it up. That was the worst reversal of a TD I've ever seen. Awful. Both camera angles were off...he obviously broke the plane. So after the bad call, we end up getting the ball back down 6...a gift. And we don't take it. It was ours to take, and we didn't take it. And that makes me sick. And it's sad too how TERRIBLE Michigan's defense played. Guys were open ALL DAY. Braxton did a good job finding the open guy, but his accuracy needs to improve drastically!

There are no moral victories in THIS game. There is no "at least they didn't give up" or "at least they played hard". Screw that...it's Ohio State/Michigan. Who wouldn't play hard all game? I'm not going to complement a team for doing something they SHOULD do.

We lost the last 3 games of the season. Unacceptable. Sorry...it's the harsh truth.

The player running the offense on those desperation drives was going to prom six months ago. A big part of what you've seen in these last few weeks it the gap between potential and reality.

Right. But take solace in the fact that in order to win they had to face a Buckeye team that is the most dysfunctional in their history. They did it against a team of freshmen and sophomores that were banged up. They did it against a team with pretty much 0 senior leadership. They did it against one of the worst offensive coaching staffs that I've seen.

But they did it. By 6. Congrats.

My thoughts exactly.... It took all of THIS (over the last 12 months) for scUM to come up with a 6 point win at home? Enjoy it while you can scUMmers, a new streak begins next year.

As critical of Bollman as I am, no offensive scheme being brought in can be executed if Braxton is not even in the ballpark...and on 3 plays that would have been TD's. I know he is a freshman, but he needs ALOT of work on his passes that aren't circus throws. The last couple games the majority of his throws haven't even been close. In summary, obviously this is a forgettable season. I didn't expect us to win the Big 10 title, but I thought we would put forth a better effort than this. I'll stop there, but just a disappointing year that hopefully will be alleviated with Urban being named coach and a win against Duke on tuesday.

It goes down to freshmen and sophomores and 4th string dbs being out there due to injuries. This was the perfect storm for Michigan and they took advantage of it.

They still suck and they know it. If they have to play Bama for some reason they will lose by 4 touchdowns.

FWIW, if Miller connects with Posey on that pass, I have zero confidence that UM wouldn't march down the field for a winning field goal. They would have had 1:30 and 3 timeouts. :(

Ouch. Never even thought about that... well, that makes me feel a little bit better. They weren't stopping Michigan no matter what today unfortunately.

It's hard not to think about all of the easy deep pass plays that were missed today. Wow. They really left a lot of points out on the field.

One could only hope that would happen. This would be the result for scUM...
