My 7-year old son is having a tough time swallowing this... he was all decked out and had signs made up and everything. It was kinda neat, but it didn't roll our way today.

My 4 and 5 year olds went outside to hit golf balls into a net. That helps them (I hope).

Hate the loss but it doesnt feel like it did in the 90's. This felt like we were playing a pretty good team with the right coach with one of our more disfuncitonal teams and they won a toss up at home. No shame in that game.

One thing I didnt realize until last week was just how good Posey is. I guess I took for granted the wr's that have came through.

Yep. It's unfortunate that Posey and the rest of them decided it was worth sacrificing their senior seasons at Ohio State for some tattoos.

I hope they are worth it. If there was a senior class that was going to end the streak against Michigan I guess it's fitting that it's this one. Feel bad for those that did things the right way, though.

I have a real hard time laying this one at the feet of #5. Very hard. Point in case...

Why would you run a QB draw up the middle when the middle of the field is DEVOID OF LINEBACKERS AND SAFETIES?!?

You do have a tight end named Stoneburner that presents matchup problems with just about anybody.....

You have one timeout, and you take that on the first set of downs on the drive....

You have a route run five yards behind the chains....

Finally.....

You clock the ball on third down?!?

THAT, my friends, ain't a player problem. You have my sympathies. We just unloaded our unheralded offensive coordinator last year.
You know what? I can't even blame this on Bollman. Outside of a couple of series, he called a heck of a game and the offense was the only reason we weren't run off the field.

This loss goes squarely on the defense. Seriously, 40 pts? 40 [censored]ing pts against an offense we've shut down time and again? They were playing like they'd never seen a read option offense before.

The Game was in Ann Arbor.

Denard had the game of his career.

The defense was banged up and gassed.

Braxton Miller missed wide open receivers all game, including a sure touchdown to Posey with a minute to go.

The playcalling went ultra-conservative in the third quarter, and then just plain bizarre with the game on the line.

The Buckeyes have been mentally fatigued all season due to off-the-field problems which cost them their best player and their hall-of-fame head coach, and more recently with the imminent firing of most of the current coaching staff.

Everything in scum's favor ... and scum still won the game by just six points.

Yep, enjoy it scum fans. You had the perfect storm going for you this season, and your team won by six points ... and it really could have gone the other way. Next year can't come soon enough for me.

GPA. Perfectly said.

I just realized that he's never seen the Bucks lose to TSUN. All a part of growing up, I guess. Probably good for him to get a little bit of that bitter taste, so he never ever thinks about turning to the dark side!

Same way for us in 1998 when we lost to Kansas State. I grew up (at the time was 22 years old) not knowing was it was like to lose to Missouri, Kansas State, Kansas. I almost threw the TV out of the window in my high rise studio apartment when Snyder and his band of kitties got us that year.

Tell him to keep his head up, and say the following,

"Don't worry, son. The sun shines on a dog's behind every once in a while."

Rough defensive game. And I, like the rest of you, also have complaints about the last possession. Tough loss to swallow.

But hey...

Ohio State lost by 6 to Michigan. In Michigan. Their record was 9-2. Ours was 6-5. We gave them all they could handle.

Next year I expect the rebirth of a 7 year streak.

:oh:

This would probably not be the best day to tell him about Santa.

The offense looked great on that last scoring drive. It took, what... 1:23 seconds? With short, crossing patterns to tight ends? What happened with all of that on the last drive? They had 2 WHOLE MINUTES to score. An eternity...

The sad part is... I really didn't have that much faith in the offense to put up score there, even though they had moved the ball pretty well all day. How could you? This offense had just always looked terrible in 2 minutes drills, unless they pull off some miraculous play.

Tough, tough loss.
