Game Thread THE GAME, Nov 29th, High Noon, ABC (It was a nice Time For War while it lasted)

Never been to The Game. If something happened and tOSU lost I'd never forgive myself. I figure I'll take my daughter with me for my first and she can always tell the story about how the only time she ever saw her pops shed a tear was during the singing of Carmen Ohio during The Game.

I bought a "Fuck *ichigan" shirt during Tressel's first season and I've worn is every single year for The Game despite the fact it has barely resembled a shirt since about 2006. That shirt and I are 11-2.

Fuck that [Mark May]ty school up north. Fuck their inept coach. Fuck their fight song, colors, band, town, and everyone that lives in it, Buckeyes excluded.
.
Back in 2002 I bought a shirt at the Texas Tech game. That shirt did me so proud that day and that year that I've worn it for every game since. Our record since that purchase isn't perfect, but it's damn good and it always feels great to put that shirt on.

I want 100, with a 2pt conversion on the last play.
Most people are familiar with the 1968 Game, when Woody went for a 2-point conversion after the Buckeyes' final touchdown with his team already leading 50-14 (the conversion attempt failed, by the way). When asked about why he elected to go for two points, Hayes quipped: "Because they wouldn't let me go for three!" Ozone has a good article about that play: http://theozone.net/Ohio-State/All-.../“…BECAUSE-THEY-WOULDN’T-LET-ME-GO-FOR-THREE”

What many people don't realize is that the 1968 Game was the second time that Hayes piled on against Michigan. The first came in the 1961 Game. Michigan scored a touchdown with 34 seconds left in the Game, and Ohio State took over at their own 20-yard line after the ensuing kick-off. On the first play, QB Joe Sparma threw a 70-yard bomb to Paul Warfield. Sparma then threw three more passes, completing the final one for a 10-yard touchdown. Sparma threw only ten passes all Game, four on the final drive.

With 5 seconds left on the clock and Ohio State leading 48-20, Hayes elected to go for 2 points. The conversion was good, and the Buckeyes won 50-20.
