Game Thread THE GAME, 11/26/16, 12pm ET, ABC

It's pretty simple really. The talent is there. The scheme and coaching is not. Saban has had success because he has had the coaching to go with the talent.

That's exactly it.

If this game is what it takes for us to reevaluate every member of the coaching staff, it might be better for us in the long run. I understand some people are better at recruiting and some are better at coaching, but those who can only recruit should not be 'coaches' - especially not at Ohio State.

how would you do it? all the o coordinators we have in this thread. their dline is owning the line of scrimmage by +2 yards on every play so running is virtually impossible. your getting something less than 2.5 seconds to first touch on the qb so..... whats your play call on 1st and 10?
Attack the edges with someone other than JT. Off tackle and on the end. Doesnt have to be flat lateral plays to the sideline, get it moving forward but attack the ends. Then add some counter and read plays going back the other way. After you hit those plays, play action works but you have to be willing to throw the ball where the receiver is going to be, not where he is now. No offense is going to work if JT doesnt start playing like he's capable.

There were huge gainers there this half that we missed on. Just hit on some of them and this game turns a 180

This is a deeply unwelcome echo from the past. Exchange "Samuel" for Hyde or Zeke, etc. etc. Been there, seen that. Did not end well.
Didn't you know? they're taking him away.

THEN UN TAKE HIM AWAY... This is what we do against great defenses. We tell ourselves well we can't do this, this, or especially that against them because they defend it well.

We go in to every big fight defeated from the start. You think Joe Frazier or someone goes into a fight saying "well they defend the left hook well so I won't even bother" FUCK NO they set it up.

I'm mentally preparing myself for a loss here because we have shown zero ability to protect JT, JT is wild again, and we came into the Lions den tip toeing around.

Even if we win this game I've maintained that there needs to be some sort of change at offensive coordinator. I stand by that.

Um, play-action. It's not rocket appliances. If a team brings 8 in the box and sells out on the run, make them pay
