how would you do it? all the o coordinators we have in this thread. their dline is owning the line of scrimmage by +2 yards on every play so running is virtually impossible. your getting something less than 2.5 seconds to first touch on the qb so..... whats your play call on 1st and 10?

We all knew (or should have known) that Ohio State needed Barrett to play at a Heisman level in order to have any chance at a championship.

Barrett hasn't played that way in the biggest games (PSU, MSU, and UM so far). Unless Barrett turns it around in the second half, stick a fork in those NC dreams.

Still no rythmn in the play calling...its either all pass or all run...one series of tempo which was our best series and we don't use it again. Even if they win this game, there has to be changes in the OCs for this team to progress to an NC. Beck needs to be gone and Warriner needs to go back to coaching the Oline.

I realize that in college football it is rare for any team to be complete - but this is Ohio State, we are one of the top 2 programs in CFB, and (like Alabama does year after year) I think we should be able to pull that off. Our offense was great but our defense played like crap in the first two years under Urban. Since Ash arrived, our defense has been solid but our offense has too often been suspect. And Special Teams has been [Mark May] entirely throughout. Hell, even in the 2014 playoff run, we were not a complete team - anyone remember the frequent turnovers and special teams miscues? They could have killed us if things hadn't somehow fallen our way.

I have to ask, why has this not been solved by now? It's year 5. I still hold my breath whenever we field a punt (Jalin, Dontre, whomever); I still hold my breath whenever we kick off. Our playcalling and offense disappears for literally games at a stretch, only reappearing every now and then. Considering the talent we had on the team last year (and how well that talent is playing in the NFL), and the QB we have this year, I find it unfathomable that we have not gotten more out of our players.

I trust in Urban - he will go down as one of the best coaches in the history of CFB - but he can make mistakes. We need to address some fundamental underlying problems that have been here since he took over, if we aspire to the level of excellence that Saban has right now, Carroll had at USC, and Osborne had at Nebraska.

It's pretty simple really. The talent is there. The scheme and coaching is not. Saban has had success because he has had the coaching to go with the talent.

The OC has saved all the good plays for the second half so scUM couldn't adjust to them at the half right? right?

I mean ffs it's like they call plays like as if defense is on it's heals instead of loading the box. The line can't hold them out long enough for JT to stand back there so quit fucking calling plays that take forever to develop. How about actually spreading the defense out instead of putting guys in motion and bringing them all back into the tackle box...

Damn't Defense...SMASH THAT SOB!!!!!!
