Expansion and free agency ruined Baseball for me..I still watch the Cubs but the rest means little to me. Growing up in the 60's and 70's you knew the players on every team..Mays McCovey Alou with the Giants, Mathrews Aaaron , Banks Santo, Bench Rose Perez Morgan etc. Me sister scored every Reds Game in 72..listening to the radio. Now players are not part of the community like theywere.

Absolutely. What's the old saying, "An obliterated Tide raises all ships." The rest of the conference should be able to land a couple of recruits that they normally wouldn't have gotten, provided they actually go out and recruit them. That's the only way trickle-down recruit-o-nomics actually works.

Agreed. I don't know much about business, but I do know that you don't sit back and count on your one big contract to continually be there. The rest of the Big Ten can't just sit back and say, "Ohio State won the national championship. We can just sit here and rake in the recruits."

Steve19: Yes, I went to Ohio State and am from Columbus.

College kid: Hate to hear that. I am going to Alabama.

College kid: Yeah, I know....

So, there you have it. SEC kids are now wearing B1G gear. :)
