Game Thread That Team Up North @ Ohio State - 11/24/18, The '62' Game, Revenge Revoked

I have been to my fair share of games, Fiesta Bowl, NC semi, Sugar Bowl, tons of game at The Shoe.

Honestly this was the most electric atmosphere I have ever seen. I mean my lord... the intensity was outrageous. Many ear shattering moments, but I have never seen or heard more crazy loud noise than when we blocked that punt. I mean I swear 70 year old men were jumping up and down. Then to top it off, being able to celebrate the whole 4th quarter, watching scUM fans leave with a whole quarter to go, rushing the field etc.

Easily the most memorable in person experience for me at an OSU game.

Anyone else think a moment was more loud and crazy than that blocked punt TD as far as pandemonium?

I wasn't at the game yesterday, so take that for what it's worth. Someone brought up the 2002 interception by Gamble. I was there for that and the crowd was on fire. I wasn't there for the 2002 interception by Will Allen, but that must have been awesome. Same for Holy Buckeye or the last play of the NC game, or 85 yards through the heart of the south - all brought up by others.

Here's a short list of plays that I remember:
Herbstreit passes to Greg Beatty to tie the score in 1992.
2004 Ginn Punt return against M*ch*gan
2004 Smith pass to Gonzalez
2004 Smith pass to Holmes
2004 who intercepted the pass in the endzone? Was that Youboty?
2004 game was awesome. First The Game I attended that Ohio State won.
Of course all of the 2006 game was pretty awesome. The long run by Wells, lining Ginn up as a tight end and faking the run up the middle, the long run by Pittman.
2012 was pretty good, but I can't remember a game-defining moment like the blocked punt.
2014 when Barrett went down the pessimism took over me. So when Elliott broke free for the long touchdown on fourth down, was pretty awesome. Same with the fumble recovered for a touchdown.
I wasn't at the 2016 game, but I have to believe that sitting in the stands in double overtime, down by 3, wondering if the refs will get it right and keep the ball where Ohio State gets the first down, to scoring the winning touchdown on the next play - that must have been amazing.

There's no shortage of amazing plays in this game. Again, I wasn't at this one, but I have to believe that that punt was incredible live.

Every player on OSU s roster was offered by Bama and that’s the difference. They came together for one game. If I’m a buckeye fan I’m pissed at what could have been. Us on the other hand had players that got their asses kicked and were flopping around like fish out of water.
Like JK Dobbins said, "When UFM calls, you don't say no."

Oh, and fuck the refs and their 150 penalty yards against OSU. Less than half of those pass interference calls looked legitimate from the stands. Didn't see a facemask either.

The non call for targeting on the Haskins slide was the one someone should be fined/lose a job over.

All the talk of player safety and all the calls you see every Saturday across CFB where the receiver becomes "defenseless" a milisecond before the defender hits him.....and then they sit there and watch a QB slide and take a helmet to helmet shot.

Maddening.

Urban got flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty as a result of not calling targeting on that play, right?

Just looked it up and watched a clip on espn. Winovich hit a sliding Haskins, helmet-to-helmet, leading with his crown, no doubt about it. Targeting penalty and ejection were merited but uncalled. Urban does indeed take an unsportsmanlike penalty in reaction to said non call, adding insult to injury. FWIW, the crowd was booing as loud as I've ever heard during that series of events.

Now they are taking it out on on RichRod, not my fault, I never went 0-4 against the Buckeyes.
my god they're delisional. That game wasn't as close as the 19-24 halftime score they were gifted. They're lucky that they got most of the calls, and some lucky bounces or it would have been 80-7. Urban didn't run up the score, we kneeled it out at the 7 with a minute left! Tried to just run it out, but your fucking team couldn't stop us, and Weber tripped over the 10, or it would have been 70. Game wasn't as close as 62-39 makes it seem.

Imagine the thrill and excitement of scoring against them. Banks td reminded me of a scout team player who got to score back when Cornelius Greene was the QB. He wasn't even supposed to get the ball but Greene was defended and he had to pitch the ball. I don't remember the kids name but I was proud as hell that we were so good that a scouter could even get in the game and then have the thrill of a lifetime by scoring.

Again, I hate blaming officiating for the outcome of games. I think it is the weakest argument there is. However, across the board, B1G officiating has been terrible for years now and it's a flat out disgrace now. There's no consistency, calls often seem arbitrary, holding is often ignored, PI calls have no rhyme/reason. That no call of Haskins yesterdsy was especially egregious and should cost somebody a suspension, at a minimum. The coaches in the league need to get together and go to the league with about 12 hours of footage...just from this season.
