Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Depending on the interpretation of the rules?! You gotta be [Mark May]in' me. If that doesn't scream unfair competitive advantage with regards to recruiting...

[sarcasm]How would seeing some the best high school players participate in a game, with a longhorn insignia in one corner of the screen, benefit recruiting?[/sarcasm]

"Hey boy, come to Texas and we'll televise your high school football games!"

...pretty fucking simple if you ask me.

So, let me understand this correctly.

1. Shitty tattoos and selling what should be prized possessions gives you an unfair competitive advantage?

2. Having the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" cover your conference 24/7 and give nothing but praise while hiding ongoin investigations from the simple masses does not give an unfair competitive advantage?

3. Having the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" cover your team 24/7 while also giving hype/media time to "possible" future players on the channel dedicated to one team does not give an unfair competitive advantage?

4. Manhattan, KS is a total shit-hole that only exists because Soldiers from Ft. Riley piss all their money away in Aggieville?

5. This forum hates Texa$?

6. The PAC-12 still plays football?

7. Anyone from TSUN is a giant bag of douche?

8. Lubbock, TX is a terrible college football town but a great place to hook up with the executive producer of the local Fox affiliate?

9. The first 3 might be legitimate but the rest might be a bit of spam?

10. :oh:?

you got that first part about [censored]-hole right. Not all soldiers from Riley piss their funds away. Many drive to Kansas City, stay on post, or you could do like me and drive home over the weekend since it's within the 250 mile radius (Omaha).

I feel sorry for the intern or student-aid assistant at Texas A&M who had to go through the NCAA rulebook to dig up the 17-year-old rule.

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/31025781

Texas A&M is urging the NCAA to use a 17-year-old rules interpretation that it believes would keep the Longhorn Network from airing high school games.

CBSSports.com obtained documents that show A&M wants TLN classified as an "institutional publication", per bylaw 11.2.3.4, which would make it an "athletics representative of the institution." The 1994 interpretation dealt most mostly with what was, at the time, an explosion among specialty print publications. Several newsletters, magazines and weeklies sprung up in the 1990s that covered individual schools' sports. Several of those publications reported recruiting news in varying degrees as part of their coverage.
