These schools and sports programs have taken massive financial hits. The idea that the Universities will allow the AD's to go splashing around millions in buy outs and millions more for the new guy is pretty far from reality imo.

As bad as they are, I don't think these coaches with big buy outs are going anywhere, or at least not at the rate that's being discussed.

Texas isn't tsun/Berkeley like they desperately like to believe, but they're not Nebraska either. All the millionaires on surly can howl all they want, but ultimately, the President and board are going to make the decision that's best for the university. I think you're seeing this at tsun too with the rumors that they want to work out some kind of short term extension for that magnificent bastard known as SimpLLLLLe Jim just to get through the next year or two.

Surly's lost its fucking mind. In the time it took me to do a short thirty minute workout and take a shower, they added over 200 posts to their Urban thread. They're all sitting around watching Big Noon like a bunch of Kremlinologists attempting to discern the meaning in everything Urban says as it relates to the UT job.....which by the way is still fucking occupied.

I'm no expert with the Texas boards, but I'm curious about how many of their fans thought it was crazy that Ohio State didn't fire Urban Meyer for the whole thing with Zach Smith. Now that they get a fun rumor that Urban is looking at the housing market, they're all on board with him coming to town.

I don't know how Urban Meyer was supposed to have time to coach at Texas, when he's already going to be coaching at USC and Penn State. (Similarly, I don't know if USC fans were up in arms about Ohio State keeping Meyer. I know that Penn State fans weren't shy about calling Ohio State out for keeping him.)
