Texas 21, Alabama 37 (BCSCG) Jan 7, 2010 on ABC

Have a good night everybody. It is going to be in the 20s in the morning, and the world is ending down here. They don't put the water intake pipes in the slabs down here - usually the pipe comes out of the ground next to the house. I had to buy a pool noodle, slit it, and use it for pipe insulation today because they were sold out. :p

Raining now. Big fun tomorrow as they learn what black ice is... :slappy:

Bama was winning this game with or without McCoy. Really like Texas and hate Special Ed College (SEC) but Bama is the best this year hands down.

No way. Colt McCoy wouldn't have played an entire half like a freshman. We can't prove anything but I think Texas would have taken this one with McCoy in the entire game. Bama's secondary couldn't hold off that attack for 2 quarters, never mind 4.

Does it really matter if people chant "SEC"?

Not a big deal at all to me. They do it. We don't. We make fun of them. They won't stop doing it. It is what it is. Nothing's going to change it. They like their conference winning championships. I don't see individual schools claiming them. Auburn fans aren't saying "Yes! We (Auburn) won a championship", they are saying "Yes! We (our conference) won a championship." With the exception of Michigan, most fans here would be rooting for the Big 10 team to bring home a championship. Look at all the Big10 game threads, there is a definite bias towards wanting to see them and our other common opponents win. It makes OSU's schedule look tougher and in turn, our team appear better.

The ONLY difference is they chant their conference. We don't (maybe because "Big 10" isn't an easy 3 syllable thing to chant?).

Same stuff gets brought up in every discussion.

Somehow I don't think Auburn fans are bouncing off the walls right now.

People were rooting hard for the Big Ten this year because of all the shit the conference has been taking recently. 5-6 years ago I don't think very many people here would've been watching Iowa/Georgia Tech or Northwestern/Auburn with very much interest.

I think you're wrong there. Supporting your conference was not invented by the Some Ethics Compromised league

Texas won 7 of their games by 39, 31, 57, 34, 32, 33, and 31 points this year. That said, why hadn't Gilbert attempted more than 26 passes this season? I think part of the blame for the loss therefore has to fall at the feet of Mack Brown for not getting Gilbert more game reps in UT's blowout wins earlier in the season.

I know most of you can't stand Alabama. But being married to a Bama Grad I have enjoyed cheering for them. Heck he never even watched a :osu: game before we got married. Now he will yell just as much as the next :osu: fan for them to win. This house was for Alabama last night and what a good game.

Our girls have been raised to say Go Bucks, Roll Tide Roll! That and M*ch*gan stinks like Skunk. (Because they should not say sucks just yet, that will come later...:wink2:)

I'm just glad that our coach is classier than Nick Satan. That guys reminds me of Al Pacino in Devils Advocate. It was nice seeing him get hit in the head with the Gatorade by two huge lineman - way to go guys. Also, he shouldnt have scored that last touchdown. That was a loser move. Kneeling would have been just as effective. Its a shame that one of the few coaches in the SEC who still has some class (Meyer) might be stepping down.

Anyways, I am predicting a Big 10/SEC National Championship game next year - Do you concur?
