Man, I thought the SEC posters on this board were above the "SEC-SEC-SEC" garbage. Guess I was wrong. If you ever see me chanting "Big Ten" if scUM () or State Penn would win a National Title, I'd hope you folks would have the decency to brain stem me.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. If my team won a NC trophy, I sure as heck would not be willing to share with the flotsam and jetsam of the conference. "No, WE (tOSU) won the NC. YOU (rest of conference) didn't win jack shit."

By contrast, if State Penn or some other team laid down on us the kind of beatings that your Dawgs took from the Gators the last couple of years on the way to winning a NC, I wouldn't take much joy from it. As a fan of my team (not of the conference), I would still want my Buckeyes beating the other team (especially scUM or State Penn)!

Well, that says a lot about you guys. Conference pride is understandable. I want the Big Ten to do well. I just don't feel the need to go on other boards, especially one that I have good standing on and trumpet it. Like I said, if anybody ever sees me going on a UGA or UF board chanting "Big Ten! Big Ten!", especially if it's because of my rival's success, I hope somebody shuts me up. Carry on with your party.

If you're one of those SEC fans who rides the coattails of your conference's success congrats.....what a great way to finish your...or rather your conference's season. Tennessee, Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina, etc.....this is just as much your National Championship as it is Alabama's. So stick your chests out and your nose up.....this one belongs to you!!!! And remember.....

Well, we're going to have a 1st year starter at QB (again) so we'll be breaking in a new arm and of course we'll have to get out of the SEC first. Not sure if you follow the game much - but it's kinda tough.

I don't think any of us would argue with the success. Some of the SEC fans just need to learn to show a little class. If I have to hear another Tennessee fan cry SEC SEC....when they haven't done sh*t.... The arrogance is sickening. Ask yourself.....What Would Tim Tebow Do??

To be fair to gator and woof, I don't think they were trumpeting it as much as they were trying to explain it, since people here were calling the SEC people a bunch of inbreds. That said, I don't think that the individual SEC team fans would have gotten so worked up about the SEC itself, had it not been for the national media continually tooting the SEC's horn the past 4 years or so, which has also only caused fans of teams from other conferences to get pissed.

I know a lot of people think Texas would have won with Colt, but I am not so sure. Saban surely had his defense play differently with the freshman in the game, daring him to throw the ball. With McCoy in, you probably would have seen more zone coverage, and the touchdown passes that Gilbert had might not have been open. So it's reaaly impossible to say that Texas for sure would have won. Saban really pissed me off by not taking a knee before the last score, though. Texas wasn't even using their time out, and you could see "WTF?" on Mack Brown's face...
