They are also chanting "S-E-C" because for the first time in the history of college football - one conference has won the MNC four years in a row.

Say what you want, that is pretty damn impressive....especially considering that the four-peat was earned during a period that is widely considered to be the era of the greatest parity in the history of college football.

So Mike, I agree to disagree buddy.

But if ANY other conf did that, you would never here that chant.. Sorry you know you wouldnt.

So I disagree to agree

Poor babies, having to wait until tonight to be exposed to the wonders of Alabama Crimson Tide football. Welcome to my world. If you think the players and coaches are bad, try having to deal with the fucking fans.

And a lot of you wanted them to win. :shake:

If we have 1 national championship sandwiched between 2 scUM NC's, we wouldn't see it as an accomplishment for the Big10. Rather, we'd see it as "dammit we should have ruined their season that third Saturday of November!"

Does it not piss you off that Alabama ruined your team's chances at a repeat NC?

He's a freshman! I'd be pumped to have a kid who showed the guts he showed tonight. This was his first serious action of his collegiate career and it was in the National Championship game. He had a big hand in bringing Texas back.

Couldn't disagree more.

I'm obviously pissed losing my entire V-Stash on this one, and I'll lighten up and say, yea, he did a decent job bringing them back, but DAMN whats-up with fumbling at yourown 5?

Bed time. Would love to do "congrats" to Bama but that ain't gonna happen.

Peace

 That's rich. Fans going insane for their first NC in 2 decades, adrenaline through the roof, half of them intoxicated one way or another, and they're celebrating an incredibly specific statistic.

I realize you enjoy whispering 'scoreboard', but we both know you're too intelligent to believe that's the inspiration for the chant that graces ugly wins over .500 NC State teams.

Playing opponents who treat their conferences like the Big1/2. Or we could go with the reputation of OSU with regard to your 'widely' held opinion.

01-05 saw a lot of parity and a variety of opponents, conferences, etc. There were 3 "dynasties" for crying out loud :), and the final installment of the 3 featured "the greatest team of all time"... who lost.

06-09 saw so much similarity that america largely decided the NC matchup in the preseason. SEC & B12 champ. Talk that UF probably gets a mulligan if they beat bama in the CCG.

No question about the SEC's dominance, but I'm not sure I'd use parity as my calling card here.

They don't call it a blind side for nothing. The announcer even pointed that out for you.

Even Tom Brady gets smoked like that every game or two.

I think there's more to it than just football, honestly. There is this mentality of the south that's not as prevalent in any other region of the United States. What used to shine through as valor and brotherhood now just reeks of being ingenuous and outdated (at least to those of us who aren't from the south).

As far as football is concerned, however, it is a very good feat. But, in my mind, Florida's titles belong to Florida; LSU's title's belong to LSU, and Bama's title belongs to Bama.

You mean, like when he was taunting the Oklahoma defenders?
Oklahoma defenders??? He was specifically trying to give some crap to Nic Harris. Which was fine with me, given the fact that when Tim did it to Harris, everyone in Gator Nation thought that Harris intentionally tried to injure Percy with a leg pull. Harris was jawing at everyone the whole game, Tebow included. Tim got the final first down that iced it, Nic said something and Tim responded to Nic's comment with a chomp.

What a debbie downer, I really wish I'd skipped this game. I'm normally pretty cold-hearted, but I feel awful for Texas, especially McCoy and Gilbert.

Four years in a row the team I've been cheering for has lost the title game. Hopefully that trend is reversed next year.
