Well, Federer is still on top. I'm sure he's glad he faced Nadal in the final, although he had some doubts after the third set tiebreak.

It was good to see the Bryans complete the career Grand Slam in doubles.

Agreed. It was nice to see her get to properly enjoy that moment - she really deserved it. I think the only thing that might have made it better would have been a volley winner to put it away instead of an error from Henin-Hardenne.

After the first set, Maruesmo really played well. I enjoyed watching both of these players, actually - I get a little tired of the incessant pounding away from the baseline that seems to be the standard these days, so it was great to see so much net play.

If Henin-Hardenne had continued to dominate like she did early, I was hoping for Mauresmo to retire with a couple games left. :)

I was happy to see Amelie win that one.

I was rooting for Nadal in the men's final, just to see some challenge to Federer's dominance on everything but clay. They both played well - I wouldn't be shocked to see a rematch in New York.

Another major is starting, time to revive this thread.

I'll take Federer, going out on a big limb.

I think Agassi will make a big run, taking out Baghdatis and Roddick.

I'll take Justine-H-H; I still can't stand her, but she has a good draw and she's gotten much better at coming to the net.

Good riddance to Agassi. Now we can stop wasting time watching has beens play.

The replay system has worked out much better than I could have imagined it would. Certainly see no reason to stop using it.
It does prevent the always comical arguments between player and umpire though.

Yeah, we can watch overrated, over-egoed never-weres like Roddick instead. Woo-hoo.

This was worth noting. Did you also have Martina in the mixed?

Not bad for somebody pushing 50.

Umm...of course I did...mixed doubles predictions are always the highlight of the grand slam season for me. :p

Looking back through the thread, that was 6/8 correct picks this year. Maybe I have a future in the high stakes world of tennis betting. I wonder if they even take bets on Federer?
