Agree with this. The starting point for a true turn around is to realize who the hell you truly are. Vol nation has always been way too self inflated.

THIS. Get a guy like Dan, temper expectations, give him room to breathe and shut the hell up if you are UT. If I’m a fan, I want a guy like this to be here a long time and look for success starting in year 3 or 4. Then up his pay. And keep him.

I mean Houston Nutt was basically forced out at Arkansas, and Arkansas to Ole Miss is at most a lateral move in terms of program desirability. Though, you could argue that Tennessee isn't any better than Mississippi State, anymore at least.

Dumpster fire does not even begin to explain UT right now. The Vol faithful are having a rough go of it lately (last 10 years). Turns out their savior, John Gruden, has been trolling them....again. A little deja gru from 2012. Now their best players are posting videos trashing the school and getting kicked off the team by an interim coach. Hoke is really popular in Knoxville right now...
