You don't think a convicted violent offender should be treated any differently? So do you also disagree with the Nation Sex Offender Registry?
hey, looking at pictures of carly patterson and actually doing something about it are 2 different things.

oh....you meant the NATION......

The point is this.. there is a big difference between saying "Star Michigan CB Marlin Jackson breaks bottle over girlfriend's head, suspended 1 quarter" and saying "Michigan Walk-On Punter Ross Ryan pees in trees, kicked off team"
The point is, you're all over the fucking map. One post you say he has a "right" to walk-on as any other student. The next post, after I question this alleged "right", you chastise me for putting words in your mouth, and claim you never said he had a "right" walk-on.

It's apparent to me that you're working very hard to justify a pre-conceived decision - you want to see Izzy playing for the Buckeyes because you think he could help us win - and you're willing to use any rationalization to get you there. This is why you couldn't remember what you said previously in the discussion. If you truly believed what you were saying, you wouldn't forget your position on the issue.

However, this is much different than a ***ual offender case. This was a teenager who beat someone up. (Gee who didn't see THAT in high school). The kid got hit with a felony only because he was over 18, otherwise it's a misdemeanor.
No actually he did it twice...the second involving robbery as well as assault with a criminal trespassing thrown in-between.

While my example may be considered hyperbole, your simplification of this situation is far worse in this scenario.

You really need to research the law before making such a silly statement

Lloyd, you really need to stop before you make yourself look more foolish here.

His felony charge was Robbery...he showed a pattern of violence over a 9 month span and was charged as such.

3 Days detention for selling marijuana at school? I don't know what planet that school is on, but trust me, that is against probably every State, Federal, and District educational policy ever conceived.

We give kids 5 days for a fight...intake papers are done. If there is a weapon, drugs, or robbery involved, the matter is turned over to the Dept of Juvenile Justice.

Hell, kids take shit from other kids all the time in school.... that's normal shit.
I'm too lazy to read this whole thread so if I'm taking this out of context forgive me, but...

He f'n mugged a random stranger on the street. Any way you look at it... that's a big deal! If we can't say that's over the line then we have indeed become blind to the very concept of right and wrong.

All I'm saying is, for all you people who have but 1 dream in the world, and make one bad choice that keeps you from doing it.. i hope that makes your eyes widen.

what is it with you and gay dreams? :roll1:

Someone had said the kid wasn't random, he owed LI money.

I really don't see how I'm being foolish here, as I'm only pointing out my previous knowledge of how the Juvenile justice system works, and how minors get away with a lot of shit.

Other than that, all I've said is that people need to grow up and quit acting like they have never done anything wrong in their lives.

For all we know, Ira was beside him going "Dude, doesn't he owe you money? Dude fuck him up, you're a pussy if you don't hit that dude right now! Do it!"

We all know how kids are, and it only takes a little to make some kids do stupid shit sometimes. We don't know the whole situation.

Minors can 'get away' with shit b/c they are too young to fully know the consequences of their actions. College kids obviously know.

This message has been deleted by LloydSev. Reason: No one listens to reason....
You know, usually I don't let little backhanded jabs like this get to me, but to delete all of your posts under of the guise of some mass conspiracy is absolutely childish.

Your logic in this thread makes no sense...none. Yet each time another hole is poked in your argument, you spin it another way.

This horse is dead, but that is damn disappointing.

The day that piece of trash is back on the football team is the day I lose 99.9% of the respect I have for Jim Tressel. Period.

I feel the same way! Bringing him back is too much of a risk. The possible negatives greatly out weigh the possible positives. I hope he finds success, but it has to be somewhere else.

Its up to Tressel. If Tressel believes he can be rehabilitated and he follows the necessary procedures to get back on the team. I'd give him a chance. However he would be on a very very strict probational period.
Perhaps shows he's a model student. Active member in the community.

I think you have to take into consideration what he's been through last 6 months as an active deterent/reminder, and also take into consideration his willingness to change.

He hasn't proved he is willing to change, but just the opposite. He needs to go to another university where there will be less pressure, and less national coverage, for his sake and his family.
