TE Louis Irizarry (official thread)

So if he sits out this year, he could play again in the 'Shoe next year if the game does indeed materialize. Talk about your awkward homecoming...

Are you kidding? Would you want him back? No way. The last thing this program needs (ESPECIALLY NOW) is Irizarry and other young men of his "caliber".

Honestly, I wish him good luck...as long as it's far from Columbus.

I was referring to the fact that YSU is tentatively set to play at OSU in 2006. Therefore, if he sits out this year, he'd be eligible to play next year AS A PENGUIN when they come to the 'Shoe for their beatdown.

OOOOHHHHHHHH...........hmmmmmm.....let's see. I, uh, knew that! Yeah....

Okay, I'll level with you....I thought you meant the D-I school could be the Bucks. (like that wasn't obvious)

My bad, everybody. Sorry to waste your time with my stupidity. Nothing to see here. Move along....

Toledo Blade reported today that the 12th game for 2006 would be Bowling Green. If he only has 2 years left, he would be done before the potential 2008 game.

As far as I'm concerned, this kid had his chance and blew it. I wish him no ill will, but i wish him no good luck either. I've got two little kids, 8 & 5, and who knows when time comes for them to go to college if they'll be enough money to send them. This guy had the world by the balls and pissed it away. As a matter of fact, Fuck Him, prisons are full of Ex-Great High School Athletes, maybe he'll fit in there better.

That whole "wishing him no ill will" changed in a matter of seconds, huh?

He's going to hurt his chances to play at the next level by playing at a lower level.

Re: "Irizarry was dismissed from the team and OSU last May after he was charged with felony assault and robbery in a late-night incident on campus.

At the time, Irizarry was on probation for an October 2003 misdemeanor assault, for which he served three days in jail.

Irizarry was convicted of one count of felony robbery in October 2004 and served nearly six months in the Correctional Reception Center in Orient. He was released May 13."

and

"also was the team’s punter...member of National Honor Society...coach was Jim Vivo."

I was surprised to see (in his bio) that he was a member of the National Honor Society.

I am not. Louis was a very well spoken and polite young man. I recall hearing him on the BN radio show and thought what a great kid. I still think there is more to these stories with Louis because he seemed to fall apart while at OSU and until then was a really good kid. Maybe depression, drugs, who knows but he did a complete 180 that is for sure.

What every happend to that RB from NJ that was with Louis during the robbery?
