TE Jake Stoneburner (Official Thread)

Underutilized. Heavily.

Yep. I don't know how they can't find a way to get him 2-4 easy catches a game, should be Miller's best friend. Had a great start to the season, then forgotten for 3 games, then had a big play last Saturday...

Might be one of the most underrated guys in the country.

There has to be a reason he's not more productive/utilized more... right? I think maybe he's not as huge of a playmaker/weapon as people act like he is (then again, who knows?), but I just don't see how he's basically not the focal point of this passing attack, especially with a frosh QB and raw/injured receivers.

Then again, Jake Ballard has 2 touchdowns in the last two weeks in the NFL, which ties his career total here at OSU after 4 years. SMH...

It just can't be as hard as this offensive staff makes it look to get him the football 5 times a game

An offense averages 10-12 possessions a game. Throwing to him once every other possession gets him 5-6 touches a game. Not all that difficult, really...

I hope we see more screen action to Stoneburner. Dude's got some wheels for being a TE. He showed that early in the Nebraska game.

But how can you get it to him 5-6 times a game when the offensive strategy is Dave, Dave, Joe B toss to the upper deck, punt?

Pretty sure that I know the reason for the Shugarts false starts. He too is very tired of Dave, so in an effort to get us out of 1st and 10 or 2nd and 5, he gives us a false start penalty to put us in better position to run something other than Dave.

Unfortuantely, Bolls hasn't caught up with Shugs, so he calls Dave anyway.

He was recently placed on the Mackey watch list.

When I look at our tight ends I can't help but think about what the Patriots are doing with their two studs and I would love to see ours utilized the same way. Stoneburner = Hernandez & Fragel = Gronkowski. I guess it would help having Tom Brady slinging the rock... but still
