Kicker Punter Punt Returns Kick off team all weaker than scum. Like Moore said if you have to talk about toughness you aren’t.

Special teams are a big reason we won’t go far in the playoffs. We aren’t good enough to comfortably beat any of the other “top” teams so they are gonna need to make a field goal or two or have some clutch field flipping punting at some point. Zero confidence in any of that

I agree with you. My point is the defense also failed when we needed them the most in the end.

They don’t even come close to who’s really to blame.

My point is the defense had a chance to get a stop and failed again.
Yeah it’s a good point, but we had a similar issue last year and in the end the offense with all the talent we have once again shit the bed

Yep our backups are usually comically un prepared and that’s 100% on the coaching. They don’t prep them to play meaningful time.
They’re unprepared because we don’t play them.

We were up 31-7 on Indiana and Northwestern and Will Howard is still in their with the starters taking the reps.

We only play back ups when there’s an injury or if there’s a blowout

Yeah, I know, not allowed to state the facts, 'they' want to burn you at the stake over stating glaring facts.

But go look now, the leaders of the site are saying the things others were saying all along, things some got zapped for, in the now closed game thread.

Maybe let the others state the glaring facts without being elitist pricks fragile bitches?
In the name of taking a minute to gather myself after being called a fragile bitch  I will honor LJBs 3 day ban. But seriously dipstick, go look at your posts. There's no truth, just bitching. Not everything you think needs to go to your keyboard and I certainly don't need to be fair and balanced either.

Well the defense gave up multiple drives that second half and were lucky to get that Sawyer INT. Then we gave up that game ending 35 yard run to Mullens when we had him dead in the backfield.

The loss is at the feet of Day and Kelly but surely the defense down the stretch just failed to make 1 more tackle or play.
You see things differently from me. When a defense allows 234 yards and 13 points (7 of those courtesy of a short field because of a terrible INT), you should win the damn game. Especially when your offense's strengths align with their defense's weaknesses. Instead, the morons that cooked up that ass game plan played into their one strength. This loss was due to the negligence of the offensive brain trust with a hat tip to the special teams (another continual problem under Day). I put this 0% on the defense, who were beasts for 90% of the game, but that's just me.

Just a few back breaking issues this year. It’s always something different every year it seems.

This year it was the following.

1. The OL depth was disgustingly thin. Yes the starting 5 was very good but man this could’ve been avoided with better depth. Also Josh Fryer and Tegra are a far cry NPF and Josh Meyer.

2. A total disregard for both the punter and kicker. Once again special teams were treated as an after thought when push came to shove.

3. On offense I’ve been bitching for weeks about this. There’s absolutely no urgency with this side of the ball. Where are the shots down field? Where’s the creativity? Where’s the tempo?

Point #3 should’ve been the big clue this game was going to be a nail biter. If we are playing slow and aren’t taking shots, and then TCUN does the same that’s a terrible recipe for a disaster.

Absolutely the offense of Ryan Day and Chip Kelly deserve the blame.

My only point is the defense had chances too in the second half but failed at key points. Let’s not also pretend we could’ve also given up multiple TDs if not for turnovers and making a stop at the 3.

They had 3 decent drives. Offense should have put up 19 minimum probably more like 24. 2 of their decent drives were after the offense tripped on it's dick all 2nd half.

Also if anyone gives the argument they didn't care. Not aimed at you but some paid mercenary comments I've seen around. These kids cared these coaches cared. You don't play so tight you couldn't get a grain of rice through their butt cheeks without caring. If they cared a little less they might have played a better game.

Teams take on the personality of their coach. Ryan Day cannot hack it in The Game, and his teams respond accordingly.
