You see things differently from me. When a defense allows 234 yards and 13 points (7 of those courtesy of a short field because of a terrible INT), you should win the damn game. Especially when your offense's strengths align with their defense's weaknesses. Instead, the morons that cooked up that ass game plan played into their one strength. This loss was due to the negligence of the offensive brain trust with a hat tip to the special teams (another continual problem under Day). I put this 0% on the defense, who were beasts for 90% of the game, but that's just me.
Was Day making any of the offensive calls in the 2nd half?

Sure had his fingerprints on it.

The best redemption is living well, and in this case that means winning the natty. It's entirely possible given how well this defense has played since Oregon. It will be interesting to see how much of the sting goes away if they do.

Anyways, if Day fails at saving his job, maybe Marcus Freeman would like to replace him? Or Lane Kiffin. If he wants to win championships, might as well give it a go at OSU.

Hard to believe Tress and Urb have no former assistants out there who could take over. None of Tress's students in the class he taught for years?

I will say this…after watching other brawls in rivalry games today, social media is absolutely the devil’s work. Hell, even I logged out of Facebook after our defeat to keep from posting something I would regret. I work in management for a well known Fortune 500 company who checks social media posts occasionally. I might post on Buckeye boards, but nothing else. Social media has absolutely ruined the mindset of many. I know the kids are told not to frequent social media outlets, but unfortunately they do. They see the same comments that we all do. All it does is create more hate and rage. Give me back the days when if your team lost, you could deal with it a couple hours afterwards, instead of reading the BS all year on social media outlets. 20-25 years ago, I would be pissed for an hour or so after a big loss. Now, I wanna seek out and beat the shit out of every mouthy ass fan that degrades the Buckeyes or the Big Ten to be honest. It takes a lot of self control. Believe me. These players let social media and punk ass fans fuel the flame. Life was much more simpler and pleasant before technology took over. I tell my kids this every chance I get. Yet, here I am posting on a webpage created by modern technology

Most of Tress and Urbs assistants have been failures as HCs

They had 3 decent drives. Offense should have put up 19 minimum probably more like 24. 2 of their decent drives were after the offense tripped on it's dick all 2nd half.

Also if anyone gives the argument they didn't care. Not aimed at you but some paid mercenary comments I've seen around. These kids cared these coaches cared. You don't play so tight you couldn't get a grain of rice through their butt cheeks without caring. If they cared a little less they might have played a better game.
Well that’s just not accurate. Most of the kids aren’t transfers.

I want to know why we never have a backup ready to go. I appeared obvious to me that Howard was to hurt to get it done. But I assume Brown was a nuclear option. Really reminds me of the Missouri game were the Dakota kid looked like a Pop Warner kid out there with zero coaching.
I think Howard was fine. I think the wind was a problem, and the coaches were concerned by it. Which is fine, but don't continue to run the ball up the gut in that case.

Then you run routes that you can control the throws . JFC Day/Kelly are supposed to be offensive geniuses and our WR room is to die for. This shouldn’t be that hard.

Great weekend in Columbus with my son. Adriacos last night. Schmidt’s Sausage Haus tonight. Nice cold walks on campus today. Lots of beers. Oh yeah, there was a game. So disappointing. I’m guessing we will survive and not take a toaster into the bathtub anytime soon. It feels like, if not this year, when? With these offensive weapons against a suspect 5 loss team? It felt like a Marty Schottenheimer team coaching and playing not to lose. How does a team/coach shake off that mentality? I don’t know the answer. I’m just a schlubb sitting up on C Deck, but I think I’m smart enough to know a bad game plan when I see it. It happens. It just can’t happen on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Dammit. Where should we eat tomorrow night?
