...but getting back to the point, Reynolds had to sit out at least one game and make a public apology. (in fact he made two) I recall thinking that he got off pretty light. Lewan has not apologized to my knowledge and given the state of Michigan's o-line and Devin gardner's health I don't see him being suspended.

He basically acknowledged what he did and said it was wrong. Apologized to the team and university. Not sure if he apologized to MSU/players involved.

I don't think an apology that includes 'I was trying to protect my QB' counts as an actual apology.

Well to be fair, it's much easier to "protect your QB" after the whistle when the other guy is laying on the ground.
Also, it's not like they didn't try to stop Sparty. They just weren't able
