Arky Threads
Extensive review of several threads last night reveals that many Arky fans seem to be hanging their hat on the schedule alone. That, and there's no way we've seen the athletes that they bring, since they're in the SEC.
The Hog fans we've had here have been great. Classy, respectful yet clearly fans of their team and optimistic about their chances. As they should be, Arky is a VERY good team. I'm curious what those Arky fans here think about the schedule (I know it's been addressed a little bit), and what bearing they think it will have on this game.
While I agree that having tests makes the team stronger, I would argue several things about tOSU's schedule this year, and the concept generally.
Wisky--got hammered early, but did a nice job getting back in the game before ultimately falling short.
Iowa--needed a clutch late drive and a conversion on 4th and 10, tight ballgame and I would consider it a test, for sure.
Penn St.--Again, came from behind, not necessarily a great team, but a test of resiliency for sure.
Also, not that it is relevant, but neither is the idea that we're somehow not a good team bc of our schedule. USC didn't exactly play a good schedule for most of the last decade under Carrol, didn't stop them from curbstomping every SEC/B10/Big 12 team they played in bowls (Outside of VY and Texas).
Thoughts?
