Arky Threads

Extensive review of several threads last night reveals that many Arky fans seem to be hanging their hat on the schedule alone. That, and there's no way we've seen the athletes that they bring, since they're in the SEC.

The Hog fans we've had here have been great. Classy, respectful yet clearly fans of their team and optimistic about their chances. As they should be, Arky is a VERY good team. I'm curious what those Arky fans here think about the schedule (I know it's been addressed a little bit), and what bearing they think it will have on this game.

While I agree that having tests makes the team stronger, I would argue several things about tOSU's schedule this year, and the concept generally.

Wisky--got hammered early, but did a nice job getting back in the game before ultimately falling short.

Iowa--needed a clutch late drive and a conversion on 4th and 10, tight ballgame and I would consider it a test, for sure.

Penn St.--Again, came from behind, not necessarily a great team, but a test of resiliency for sure.

Also, not that it is relevant, but neither is the idea that we're somehow not a good team bc of our schedule. USC didn't exactly play a good schedule for most of the last decade under Carrol, didn't stop them from curbstomping every SEC/B10/Big 12 team they played in bowls (Outside of VY and Texas).

Thoughts?

And the pigs were talking that we didn't have the fan base to sell out tickets! Hmmm, I think they may have been mistaken! Way to go Buckeye fans!:osu:
:oh:

Im done responding to "them" they will be all gone Jan 5th anyway. Talk about getting the bottom of the SEC on a weird year.

considering this is the biggest game y'all have played after our game since joining the conference, yeah I'd say y'all season is usually quite done by the time Thanksgiving rolls around.

Just because a team isn't competing for a national championship doesn't mean the season is over. Also, we have played in the SEC CG three times since joining the conference, so don't automatically assume you are our Super Bowl. I assure you our fan base doesn't circle the game after Thanksgiving any more than your fan base does. If we would have beaten Alabama but lost to you guys, we would be in the exact same bowl game we are in now.

I don't want to be a fan of a team that would just as soon be 7-5 as 8-4 just because neither get you into a great bowl. I want to be a fan of a team that cares about that week's win and not what they did prior to that game.

Carpe diem sounds much nicer than carpe BCSNC and definitely better than carpe corn dog, get back to work at the petrochemical plant LSU fan... Enjoy your bowl game against a team we already beat in the regular season.

So..ballpark 30 tickets?! Wow...stop the presses. Trust me, there will be plenty of Buckeyes there.

Were your tix available to the general public when they sold out? I'm betting some buckeyes probably got some of those, if so.

Don't mistake your getting in line with us for us somehow not wanting/or being willing to go.

I went for the MNC against LSU, without a ticket, along with about 40k other buckeye fans. Without Tickets. There will be plenty of us in NOLA, and yes, even plenty of us in the stadium.

Buckeye Football is religion. We'll be there, don't you worry

You act like that site accounts for the rest of Arkansas buying your tickets.. And no, ours didn't go on sale to the public. They were sold out to donors and season ticket holders before the public got their hands on them.

 Chest thumping about a tiny chunk of public tickets, and Arkansas fans stealing a microscopic chunk of those, as though OSU doesn't do the same thing many times per year.

I'm sure Nutriatch and the wide volume of LSU fans that were impressed by OSU's attendance in THEIR stadium are just lying though.

So, can we expect 50-100k extra hog fans outside of the stadium without tickets?

Well, it was a public sale to finish it off.

Although there is a huge difference. They offered their tickets to all Razorback Foundation members. Doesn't take much to be a part of that (you can buy the rights to season tickets for a $50 donation, compared to $1500 at Ohio State....I am assuming just to be a member is less than $50). Similar to if Ohio State offered tickets to the alumni club. There would not be a public sale if Ohio State sold them to alumni first, then the public.
