all of them have more all time wins.
all but Auburn has more national titles.
all have multiple SEC titles since Arky joined.
all of them have finished ranked in the top 10 of the final AP poll at least 4 times since '92.
Arkansas is still waiting for their 1st such finish in that time.
That doesn't tell the whole story though.
If that's the criteria then Tennessee and Georgia are #2 and #3. They have more wins, more championship seasons and more bowl wins than LSU at #4.
Arkansas has 16 championship seasons to Auburn's 12, and Florida is behind them at 11. Hell, Auburn isn't even the best job in its state. They will always be the ugly stepchild in Alabama. I won't concede that Auburn is a better job.
If you begin measuring from around 1960, which is about as far back as most college football fans can go, the number of wins each of those programs have is within about a dozen or so.
Thanks to Houston Nutt and Danny Ford, Arkansas is the most recent team of that group to have spent some time wandering the wilderness.
Georgia had Ray Goff and Johnny Griffith.
Auburn had Doug Barfield - and it could be argued, Tommy Tuberville - regardless, they haven't won a NC since 1957 (Ark's came in 1964, nearly repeated in '65 and again in '69).
LSU suffered a pretty good string of mediocrity between Chollie Mac and Saban.
Tennessee looks to be at the beginning of a pretty rough time of it.
The Arkansas job has a lot going for it. Great (and improving) facilities, a fanbase that has no real competitors for its attention, plenty of cash, history, tradition and commitment.
To say that 'Arkansas is the 6th or 7th best job in the SEC' isn't something I'm going to agree with.
