Lou Holtz also left the New York Jets with 1 game left in the 1976 season to come to Arkansas and no one holds that against him.

A slightly different time, too, though. No 24 hour news cycles, and football and baseball were on far more level playing fields; the NFL hadn't quite vanquished all contenders to the throne of the national past time until Rozelle and company crushed the USFL as a potential competitor.

Figured I would go ahead and say hi now before the less sophisticated Razorback fans show up and ruin the positive vibes. I'm sure it won't be long until word reaches the Ft. Smith and Garland County areas that the Hogs may actually play in the Sugar Bowl against The Ohio State University.

I hope Allbarn can take care of business against USCe as we've been waiting a long time for a BCS berth.

Welcome on board...

Wow. I know the scenarios ... Arkansas is in if this or this happens, while South Carolina is in if this or this happens, but it never occured to me that your fate ... well ... you're actually depending on Auburn, of all fucking teams, to do something good for your benefit.

That has to suck. A lot.

I would have to think it's sort of like depending on Wisconsin this past weekend for you, right?

The one's I'm talking about will make you long for the civil discussions with LSU or Bama fans.

I recognize the Hogs that have signed up here and they're all good people, even Sonny's homeboy, just don't supply him with alcohol.

And yes, it's major suckage to have to cheer for the West Georgia War Eagles for anything.

Well, except everyone in the universe knew that Bucky was gonna roll over NW. AUB/SC should at least be a game.

Welcome to the board, guys! If the Arky/OSU matchup pans out, it will be a very tough game. We would need the D-line to play lights out and take some pressure off the secondary. Mallett can carve up a defense, but he gets shaken when he has to scramble. I can only hope that OSU's offensive coaches come up with a game plan like the Rose Bowl.

Any thoughts on how Arky's D will approach containing Pryor?

Hmmm well I am in the Fort Smith area and I beat you to it. Nice try, though!

Eh. Most folks down South-- even non-involved SEC fan bases-- expect Auburn to roll over SC pretty easily. Alton Jeffery is going to have 10 catches for 180 yards and 2 or 3 scores, but Auburn should be able to name their number against that South Carolina defense that has problems when stretched horizontally and vertically. They could deal with an Alabama or an LSU type team much better than Auburn. As it stands, I suspect there will be a lot of points put up this weekend in the Georgia Dome.

The alcohol has already been supplied and I'm still being civil
